Ride Sat. Nov. 27 at Perry

Post by Stu »

If any of you are crazy enough to ride in the packed down, wet clay at Perry let me know. I will be out there trying to stay upright.

We are thinking about going to Perry on Saturday...we've never been there. What is it like? Will it be wet?

Some of us are going to ride at Oakland either tomorrow or Saturday, (probably be Saturday). Oakland tolerates water MUCH better than Perry. If Perry is too muddy, C'mon over to Oakland and enjoy the fun.

Oakland is a public riding area in Topeka, Take Sardou to Chester (by the Methodist Church) and turn (North) and go to the end of the road and you're there. Park along the road.
Small MX track, good single track, Some big open areas. Good variety. Sandy soil next to the river, thus most of it drains well. Can ride there when most other places are washed out.

You should call the Perry Lake Corp of Eng. office, we were there three weeks ago and the gates were locked up. I think for the winter. milford was open two weeks ago, though we had 10-12'' of snow last week and just over and inch of rain this week. it will be very muddy.

Riding at Perry on both the 27th and 28th happened to be great. Some nasty spots, fortunately, to keep you engaged. I am going out again tomorrow Sun 28th at 1. Temps will be about 45 but that is still very good. Meet me in the parking area!

Mark and I made it out and discovered racer13 out there as well. Great riding! Some mud holes and slithery spots but a lot of pour-it-on areas as well. We will be out there next weekend as well.
