* Date Changed to the 16-17
Anyone have a good route on Dirt to get me from OP, KS to Pittsburg, KS I could hop on blktop occasionally. Planning on leaving around noon on Friday and returning late afternoon on Saturday if anyone wants to join in on the fun. I have a Zumo 450 but I'm a novice at best with it. If it happens to look like rain I might push the trip back a weekend.
Thanks,
Todd

I head south towards Fort Scott most weekends but that weekend I'm going to be in Austin, TX. If you move it back a week I would be happy to lead you. In the mean time I'll try to put a route together for you that you might enjoy.

Ajayhawkfan knows the roads between the KC metro and Pittsburg better than anyone else on this forum I'm sure. If you've got time to do some exploration down there, he knows some great roads with tons of creek crossings.

I could push it back a week. It would be nice to have someone that knows the area. Do you think it could be done in 3-4 hrs?

It all depends on how much playing you want to do.tcarlgren wrote:I could push it back a week. It would be nice to have someone that knows the area. Do you think it could be done in 3-4 hrs?
A gravel route pretty straight and it could be done in 3.5 hours. You can do that by riding between the state line and Highway 69 the entire way down. Stay close to the state line and it is a pretty ride. If you use those boundries it would be a nice enjoyable ride.

I'm up for playing around on the way down just want more of a straight shot on the way back.

With AJayHawkFan leading you definitely want to play around some ... he knows the roads and stream crossings. Fond memories of the two trips with him leading the way.tcarlgren wrote:I'm up for playing around on the way down just want more of a straight shot on the way back.
