If the bike was not street legal from KTM, then expect some issues with the KHP during your VIN inspection as they will note the "off road use only" designation. I don't believe the KHP has a legal leg to stand on, but they insist on hopping around and making everyone else do the same.
Note that it is easy to plate a non-street OEM bike in IL. I bought a MXC street titled in IL 1.5 years ago and jumped through months of hoops, and finally did an end run, to get it licensed in KS.
The LC4s are bullet proof. 300 lbs, so a bit heavy for trail riding, but they do it. The bike in question looks good. BTW, my experience with Kelly Blue Book on dirt bike values is that they are extremely low and unreasonable.

Re: purchasing 2003 KTM 625 SXC?
The SXC Came into the U.S. for 2 years 03 and 04. The 04s have the more saut after FCR Carb instead of the BST carb on the 03s. No oil in the frame like the 640s so it runs with a bit less oil and no spin on oil filter. Thats about all I know.
Even though this one is street legal, its going to be a pain to get it legal in KS. These bikes did not come legal from the factory so someone made it that way. When they do an inspection at the DMV when you go to tag it, they may bauk at the head sticker that says for off road use only.

Re: purchasing 2003 KTM 625 SXC?
1+ on KHP inspectors balking on this bike! I had an inspector deny me my inspection on an '04 SXC even though it had an IL tag, title and I had insurance. She saw the sticker on the head race. I cannot suggest that you photoshop your own sticker with the legal number, your VIN and verbage and slap it over the existing sticker, of course.
I had to go over her head and get approval from the head guy in Wichita in order to get a tag. The next SXC in there at the Tangier Mall station was denied. Personally I would get something else since the vibration on my 625 SXC was pretty intense and finally the reason I sold it. Otherwise, off road it did it all. I got in plenty of nasty places with it and it always managed to get me out. You don't notice the vibes much off road.
