I did get out 11/22 for 100 miles of geo-caching with the KLR in tow.... <{:o) Anyone else still riding in this absolutely horrid weather?

I have ridden to work every day for the last 2.3 weeks. I only have a 15 minute commute. I purchased a Fieldsheer Highlands II suit at www.motorcyclecloseouts.com and WOW does this thing keep you warm. I'm quite cozy riding to work--even at 21 degrees.

Hummm that suit looks tempting. What size did you get troy? Did you order it or go down and try it on? Maybe time to update the old Joe Rocket stuff as my pants are about shot.

Been doing some riding spur of the moment, juggling between time and decent weather.
Also have some nickel and dime repairs on the KLX after Arkansas. Changed out the cam chain tensioner to a manual unit. Had to find a different countersprocket cover, who know what blew through the chain totalling the cheapo plastic unit (Topar Racing makes a trick billet cover). Also found out the rear wheel bearings are bad, got way too much side play. I'm sure the list will grow as I check things out.
I almost ride more in the winter months, as long as it's over 40 degrees, I'm good to go. Better than riding when it's 104.
Been eyeing used WR450s that are plated. Seem to be a good supply of these bikes in Colorado. Dealer told me they should be available street legal soon for everyone.

Dang Mac who sold that bike? They need to take better care of it.... My husky hasn't been moved out of the garage since the last ride in Arkansas.

Size Large fits me like it was tailored for me. I am 5' 11" and about 180 lbs. Yes, I went into the store and tried it on. Hard to buy clothing items and helmets without trying them on. The large should fit you great, T.

Heck it's not a challenge if the wheels are tracking the same line, a bit perplexing when you are going straight down pavement! The tinkering keeps me from going crazy in the winter. Better to tinker now than somewhere in the backwoods. My madness led me into Wabaunsee County last January after a snow. For some reason the sloppy rides are the ones I remember.

Dang Mac who sold that bike? (This is a quote from the boob man) Terry f from Topeka sold that hunk of junk to me. My first ride of 125 miles the chain broke, not a master link but in the middle of the chain. What the hell did Terry do to this bike was my first impression. After that I started to pamper the bike and bring it back to good condition. Far as I know the bike has never been down, well---------- except for 20-30 times. I changed oil every 5000 miles even if it really didn't need it. It worked out real well cause every time I needed to change my tractor oil the bike needed it also so I would just take the oil out of the tractor and fill up the bike. I think it calls for about 2 quarts to fill it up, so I would put in 4 so it would be twice as good. Now as far as the Rear wheel bearing goes, I'm calling BULLSHIT. After every ride I would hook up my 4000 psi power washer add some strong detergent and blast the hell out of the bike. Paying special attention to the rear bearing area to make sure any dirt or mud got washed out from behind the seals for the bearings . Now don't get me wrong that bike was never in Mud, but just in case I washed it anyway.

I think now that Mac has it that bike will have a long future , David H
