Spotted
Thought I would start a thread that some of the other national dualsport forums have. So I'll start.
Yellow DR650 riding on 152 in the mornings and afternoon. Don't know if this guy is new or what, but won't wave no matter what. Maybe he doesn't notice me every morning or since its a Suzuki, he has to hold on for dear life when riding. Anyway, thats my contribution to the forum regarding this topic. Please don't ban me again for copying other forums Troy.

I saw you ride by the house last night I think and maybe Sunday with a kid on the back.

You'll see a ton of KLR650's around the Wichita area (40 minutes SE of Hutch). So not surprising you saw 4 KLRs down there.Savage wrote:Spotted 3 guys on KLR's this weekend in Hutch and then another guy about 30 min later. WTH are all the DS around here?
One of the main reasons for the KLR's popularity in the Wichita area is the http://www.backroadstouring.org website run by Roger Baugh. Roger rides a KLR650, and really touts the bike, thus a lot of people getting into the scene, go for a KLR650. That's how I got my KLR650 anyway. I've since sold it, but wouldn't mind having it back. Roger now has (in addition to the KLR?) a KLX250. The local moto dealers down there should just pay a commission to Roger every time they sell a KLR!

Re: Spotted
Saw a Blueish KLR downtown earlier in the week. I was on the congested side of I70 and he was putting along on the non-congested side.

Re: Spotted
In the last 2 weeks, I've started seeing a dualsport zip by my house twice a day. The guy must work nights because he heads out of the neighborhood about 9:30PM and I pass him coming home on my way to work about 7:25AM. It looks like a Honda, but it looks smaller than an XR650...not sure what that would be.
Then, on Friday, I met a guy on the way to work riding a dualsport, but I could not tell what it is. It appeared to be an older bike with pale-yellow plastic without markings. Looked kind of like my DR350. I hollered "RideForum.NET" out the window and he thanked me. Maybe he'll show up.
Once we have a logo, I'm going to print some business cards to hand to riders we meet on the street.

Re: Spotted
Spotted an awsome looking and faster red KLR650, possibly a 2007 in a parking lot of a detention center in downtown Kansas City. Didn't look like it had many miles on it and looked all stock.
You need to get them Rideforum.net business cards done Troy, so if we see a dual sport bike in a parking lot we can carefully place the card on their bike.

I like the business car idea. Theres some one who ride a new Husky te610 that parks in front of the Best Buy here in lawrence and I've seen several DR rolling around town in the past few weeks.

Re: Spotted
There are other DSers in Manhattan! We need to plan a meet and greet. I tend to find the quickest way out of town when I ride my bike. Too many crazies on the pavement for me. The crotch rocketeers are always cheating death, and the hogs litter the road with broke down bikes. Neither seem to have the slightest idea about ATGATT.
If I'm still on two wheels in November, I can put together a little jaunt to Wabaunsee and Geary Co.
Oh, I saw a black cat cross the rode a week from last Thursday.
