One of the very cool places we hoped to get a view of is "Little Jerusalem". This is an area about a mile long with the most impressive limestone structures in Kansas. It was all on private land and not really visible from roads, but the KS Conservation Society purchased it and will open it as a State Park soon. The tallest spires are said to be 200 feet tall.

Yep, it was a lot of fun. I think Castle Rocks was my favorite.

I always learn a ton of stuff when I ride with Eddie. If there is something interesting to see, Eddie knows about it, has been before, and loves sharing it with others.

I'll try not to repeat much or overlap photos from what the others have said.

One of our first interesting stops was the quirky town of Lucas, KS--probably most famous The Garden of Eden. They have other interesting things to see, but I will see those another trip.





One of the first stops on day 2 was Lake Scott State Park. As Eddie said, possibly the most beautiful state park in the State. I did not take any photos of the park and lake, but it was very scenic as you drive over the bluff and into the canyon where the lake is.

Associated with the park is Battle Canyon. The road to access the canyon was very rough--probably keeps some folks out. Perfect ADV kind of stuff.



Eddie pretty much hates photos with your motorcycle in it, but I like it...same as photos with myself of loved ones in it--it's what makes the photo personal. Otherwise, I might as well just get professional photos off the Internet.


The cave where the Indian women and children hid during the battle.


Castle Rocks and the Castle Rock Badlands were definitely a highlight! I could spend some time hiking and exploring here.




We made a quick stop at Mushroom State Park, too.


3 dirty motorcycle guys are not your typical B&B customers, but Sat night was spent at the Simple Haven B&B in Wilson, KS. I have to say it was delightful. Breakfast was art--delicious art.


Extra credit for anyone who can identify this crop. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the taller stalks are a good 8' tall--tall as corn, but with a head similar to milo.
