When - ASAP Where - Northpole

Post by Jamee »

Looking for a group to head up to the Northpole, stop and see Santa and be willing to catch a ride back with Santa come December :) anything to get out of the heat and sun.

I don't currently have funds for such a trip, so also need a good sponsor. Also will need transportation (request good AC in transport), food, gas, etc. I do still have my gear from MN so should be able to stay warm.

In all seriousness though, I can see why there doesn't seem to be much happening mid summer here. Buddies up north though are lovin it, it's prime time at the moment. For those of you dual sport riders, do you just bake on the asphalt, or not ride at all?

Troy, if I've broken any rules with this post, feel free to delete/move ;)

Lunchman, I'm going to have to ban you. Please read the posting rules.

Unlike some forum communities, we don't have a lot of rules. Folks are free to post about anything--even links to bikes for sale on Craigslist (gasp!) I'll delete a post if I think it's abusive or clearly offensive, but so far, I've not needed to do that.

In the early days, spammers were able to create accounts and post up crap and porn and such. It was a full-time job deleting stuff back then!

The North Pole does sound like a nice option right now!

When the weather sucks like this I usually hit the trails a couple times anyway, knowing that its going to be a sucky ride, I'm going to sweat my azz off, I'm going to get spiders on my goggles and my crotch, and there is a possibility I'm going to get poison ivy out of the deal. But I don't care, I gotta ride sometime. I did this this past Saturday but lucked out and didn't get poison ivy. I about laid my bike down twice trying to kill spiders on me though.
Last year and this year I've been going to a local MX track because all the above doesn't apply except heat and sweat.
Getting out for a DS ride this time of year isn't bad at all if you start early and get home right after lunch. I just haven't felt like it this year.
Ahhh, pre-mix!!

What bike are you riding? Do you have one for the Track and one for the Woods? And if I can ask, where did you ride this last Saturday?

I have too many bikes these days, but when I see them at a decent price I tend to buy. I enjoy fixing them up, testing, tuning, riding, and either keep them or sell them if I don't like them. I enjoy that as much as riding. Luckily my wife has no problem with my hobby.
Two Saturdays ago we rode at gagnaou's place. He's doing a ride this coming Saturday...

Here's the last bike I fixed up and customized. I really liked the bike, but I was seldomly riding it so I sold her.
