Heading North

Pull up a couch. It's cool in the Lounge. Just remember to be a good neighbor.

Heading North

Post by ajayhawkfan »

Ozarksrider and I are leaving tomorrow for points north. In general, we are going to ride NE to the Mississippi River and then north. We may get as far as Duluth, MN. The folks in the Twin Cities are having us their honored guests at a meat (meet) and greet Wednesday evening in Stillwater, MN. On Thursday or Friday Chris and I will be splitting up. He will head home and I'm heading to the Hiawatha Rally in SE MN for Friday night and maybe Saturday.

If anyone has an interest you can follow us on my Spot: http://share.findmespot.com/shared/face ... jE7BvI9uVB

So this ended the ride for me somewhere north of Moline IL. Image A little moisture, heat, and 14 year old electrics resulted in a rental car trip home to collect my truck and trailer.

That part of the world is really cool with some spectacular views of the river. Lots of neat, old river towns on the way. Even though my part of the trip ended Sunday with a ride on a flat bed, it was a lot of fun. Thanks Eddie.

As a bonus I found the limitations of my rain gear "system". I'll be upgrading before my next trip. :)

That's the "hall effect sensor". It tells the coils when to fire the spark plugs by watching the end of the crankshaft spin. It's from an R1100GS.

Even with my part of the trip shortened, I still had fun. I like working on my bikes almost as much as riding them. :D

I think Chris broke that on purpose to get away from me. :?

I just got back. Went to upper WI and the Upper Peninsula to get out of rain. It was dry. Some of the MN folks had a meet and greet outside the Twin Cities for me. That is a fun group!

This past weekend I was as the Hiawatha Rally. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be because of the MN folks. I'm going back next year. Some of you should join me.

I'll post some pictures later.
