BTW, I just bought a used Triumph Bonneville, so now everybody keeps asking if I'm selling the KTM........now I'm even more determined to ride the KTM before I start thinking I don't want/need it anymore.

Yeah I looked at that, but A: can't do a 2-3 day ride over Labor Day this year, and B: I'm not sure my 690 would be a highway monster like your GS.ajayhawkfan wrote:There are rides going on all the time. I'm not planning any Interstates on my ride. Mostly gravel and minor highways.3SuperSports wrote:Yeah I looked at that, but A: can't do a 2-3 day ride over Labor Day this year, and B: I'm not sure my 690 would be a highway monster like your GS.ajayhawkfan wrote:There are rides going on all the time. I've seen the Leavenworth rides, and intend to meet up for one sometime, but close to home would be nice too.
I need to get the 690 on the interstate and see how she does. I haven't tried to run it at 65 for any sustained period yet.
BUT if you avoid town, you miss great rides like this one!stimmer6253472 wrote:I usually go south as to avoid riding through town.
Yeah I am sad I missed that one... Nothing like a early morning ride through the junk yards of eastern KC.troy wrote:BUT if you avoid town, you miss great rides like this one!stimmer6253472 wrote:I usually go south as to avoid riding through town.

Sounds good. I'll check back in a few weeks. Do you have any specific routes? I know some have said the Missouri side is mostly straight gravel roads, but I haven't done enough research yet.stimmer6253472 wrote:I live south of Belton if you ever want to get together for a ride. Here is the Pomme de Terre ride thread with some routes not TOO far from you--close enough to make a long day adventure out of.3SuperSports wrote:Do you have any specific routes? I know some have said the Missouri side is mostly straight gravel roads, but I haven't done enough research yet.
