Trail riding the CRF & MX500

Pull up a couch. It's cool in the Lounge. Just remember to be a good neighbor.

Trail riding the CRF & MX500

Post by Savage »

The planets must have finally aligned! I passed a stressful test, my boy got out of school early, the weather was beautiful, and I stood our broom up on end. Perfect day to load the CRF250 up and take'r to the trails and feel'r out. Nothing too exciting as I don't ride as fast anymore or fly as high. But we both had a blast! He loves to get out in the wilderness and feel adventurous and independent. Excellent bonding time!

I was quite impressed by the bike as well. There were a couple times I headed up a steep trail with no momentum and was really lugging it. I was just sure I was going to stall it, but surprisingly didn't. Felt great to get in some trail riding!! :)

Guess what the noise is at the beginning of the video?

Thanks Troy. Awesome day!

The next time we go out we're taking their new e-bike.

We got their bike out today to try it out. Some may not consider this a "real" bike, but our kids really enjoyed it.
I can't wait to take our bikes out to the trails next time! :D

This past Saturday after the parade my son was still eager to take his new bike out to the trails to ride. So we loaded up and went out so he could get his feet wet. I was nervous for him as I didn't want him to crash too hard and get hurt.
We both ended up having a GREAT day of riding. We can't wait to do it again!

Check it out from his perspective. :)

VERY cool!

You: You want to stop and take a break?
Him: No!

My daughter turns 5 in May and I'm looking forward to introducing her to the sport. I call dibs on buying the MX500 off you when your boy outgrows it...which will be in 3 months at this rate.

Thanks for the positive response, I appreciate it!
I don't think I 'll be selling it anytime soon though. My daughter can ride it (if she wants to). Or I'll tear into it someday and put my R/C skills to work. Install a brushless motor, ESC and lipo batteries.

He rode it for a SOLID hour. Got home and unloaded and it pulled me up the drive no problem. It still showed Full power as well.
