How do you say " Hi, y'all" in French? I'm working on that.
Last Spring, I posted the results of the American Adventure Rider's Challenge, a big bike skills competition I was fortunate enough to have won back in May, see link below:

As with most mind altering activities, that experience has lead to harder stuff. Since that posting, I have been involved in a competition for BMW's prized GS Trophy. This year's event is to be held in Tunisia, October 15th-24th. Much like the Camel Trophy of days gone by, GS Trophy teams will travel over and through some of the roughest country in North Africa for nine days. Various skills tests will be staged and judged along the way.
I have been blessed by being chosen as one of six finalists to compete for the honor of representing the United States. Our last test before becoming one of the three is this Thursday, August 27th, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. BMW is flying us there to test our mettle. As the oldest of the finalists, it is an incredible honor to have been picked to try.
As fellow dual Sport enthusiasts, I ask for you best wishes, blessings and prayers to do well. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get this far, not to mention possibly go to Tunisia under the banner of the Stars and Stripes.

Are you kidding? Troy, this is you, right? Dude, you fly on that Husky! I enjoyed sitting back and watching you work your magic on that speed machine. Did you see your picture in Adventure Motorcycle... or was yours in Ride Oklahoma? I'd have to check again now to be sure.

Re: GS Trophy down to the wire!
Nope, this is Troy. BGG is Brian. Thanks for the compliments on my riding, but I'm not just being humble when I say I'm not that skilled. My Husky is definitely more bike than I know how to use! I didn't actually ride with you much, Bill. But I kept hearing rumors of your riding feats! I guess all those guys didn't expect much from some guy we don't know on a Kawasaki KLX250. With that bike, no way this guy could be serious. Of course we learned that KLX250 was no longer a 250 and the guy riding it was no average rider.
I wish you all the best in this contest and from what I know of you, you deserve a place on that team. Not only because of your riding skills, but all the other things BMW is looking for. You would be a great spokesman and it would be their loss if you are not one of the winning finalists.
