Boot Dryer

So, after our Arkansas ride aka "the waterfall ride", I've decided a portable boot dryer is high on my list of riding accessories. In a post at

On the trip, one of the St. Louis guys loaned me one of these:

It worked well and very fast. However, one of them had burned out on him, and they aren't cheap. He was understandably miffed about that.
I'm wondering how fast the dryers work if they don't blow any air. The Optronics above, as I understand, use only heat to dry--no forced air. On a trip with lots of riders, it would be good to have a unit that dries boots quickly so you can share the dryer.
Any of you have experience with any of these or other options? Eddie, how fast do those Optronics dry really wet boots out?
