How old to ride-- part 2

Pull up a couch. It's cool in the Lounge. Just remember to be a good neighbor.

How old to ride-- part 2

Post by david h »

When I was young that was good. As I get older that is fine also. I will try to ride till I can't throw a leg over anymore.

Last Summer a group of 9 riders did the southern half of the Continental Divide ride. About 2300 miles or so, counting both ways, half dirt or rock and half asphalt. I totaled up a few figures and found the results interesting. 9 riders with a total age of 545 years. that equals 60.5 years each. I never even thought about our group being older, it was just a fun group. To put that in perspective Jim Foley was the young PUP of our group. Our group has 370 years of riding time under our belts as of last year, which equals 42 yrs each.

I can't go with them this year, but they hope to ride the north part this mid summer. I will be riding with a few other friends in late August on this ride. There are lots of fun rides to get done before it's too late, so ride on when you can.

Too young----Naw, too old---Naw. Enjoy that bike every minute you can, David H
