I played Hooky this afternoon!

I was getting cabin fever and had to get out and ride today. I called a few people to see if anyone had an interest in joining me. Everyone did but no one could get away. That is too bad because it was a beautiful day!!

I left my office around noon and was on my bike by 12:30. I rolled south around Hillsdale Lake and then towards Centerville, KS and a little cabin I am having work done. As soon as I got out of the city I was on gravel. The further South I went the warmer it got. Around Centerville it was 75 degrees! I checked on the cabin and headed back home. Most of the roads were fine but there were some slick, muddy spots that caused me to pucker  a little because my pig wanted to lay down in black stuff. I'm glad to say I make it home without any incident.

I got home around 6:00 and the temperature had dropped to 50 degrees. The total trip was 180 miles.

I enjoyed my day but riding with another would have made it more fun.

Here are a few pictures if anyone is interested: http://picasaweb.google.com/ajayhawkfan ... alkerPlace (Mike and Troy, it does not look the same does it?)

I can't wait until spring!

I am able to play hooky from time to time. If anyone is interested in joining me in the future please drop me a message.

SWEET cabin and NICE view. You lucky dog.

The school looks like it has a new Roof. Do they still use it for something???

The school is not used for anything but as you can tall the owner does not want it falling in so keeps a good roof on it.

I hope in the spring to have an overnight ride to the cabin-limited bed space but unlimited camping.

Wow! The cabin has more than doubled! Love the upper balcony, too. What a great spot on the river bend you have there.

I left work early (3:30) to put some miles on the TE450. Just as I rolled out the driveway, the sun went away and the temperature plunged. I froze! I was colder than I've been in a long time....I was not dressed for it.

Very nice. And it certainly has increased in size. That old bridge (private property) is one that Troy and I went by on our way down to your place last fall. Tempting, but we resisted.

I wanted to ride across it as well.
