A nephew has picked up a 1986 Honda XL600R with bald tires. He asked my recommendation. Recommending TKC 80s is pricey. What recommendation does the brain trust have for such a bike?

Back in the day, if you wanted a good DOT dualsport tire that is aggressive enough to satisfy, the Dunlop D606 was the go-to.

i like the pirelli mt 21 , it is not the cheapest one but has good life and traction characteristics . Kenda also makes a very reasonably priced tire, shorter life but very affordable and good handling.

Kenda Trackmaster II. They are around $50 on amazon, handle great. If you need one fast I keep 21", 18" & 17" in stock at all times. Hit me up.

I passed that recommendation on. I don't believe he needs anything that fast but thanks for the offer.
