By that Saturday, we should all be sick of Turkey left-overs, so Chili sounds great! WAIT a minute...it's not TURKEY chili is it?! 8)

I plan to ride to Dell's Powersports tomorrow to check out Dell's, shoot the breeze, and eat chili. I figure to arrive around noon.

When I've had my fill, I might take this 24 mile route down to Lone Jack, MO to get ice cream, a latte, or both at Jack's Java Shop. I've never been to Jack's--just an excuse to ride.

If anyone wants to join me, just show up at Dell's sometime between 11 and 2 and find me. I'll be on a white F800GS. I usually have amazing hair like in this picture.

Had a really nice time out at Dell's today. It was great to finally meet Mark Riggins, the owner. Mark is a dualsport enthusiast and leads Flint Hills rides.

I am subscribed to his e-newsletter, and when he sends out ride invites, I post them on RideForum. You may also want to subscribe, and you can do so here:

It was nice meeting Matt and his dad, Tom! (It was Tom, right?)

Also, a blast from the past--Mr. Wizard (Jim Foley) showed up! He was on his Africa Twin with automatic transmission. He let me take it for a test ride! I have to say, I wasn't all that excited about that bike when it came out, but I keep hearing great things about it. After seeing it and riding it, I'm sold! It's a great machine. For some reason in pictures the bike has looked fat and heavy to me. In person, however, it's a sexy, relatively slim beast. That automatic transmission is so smooth. No clutch and no shifting would be SO NICE in traffic. The motor felt really strong, too.

We hung out at Dell's until about 3. Then Matt, Tom, and I rode my little route down to Lone Jack. It turned out to be a nice ride. Those 2 guys split off when we got close to Lone Jack to go to Tom's house--he lives in that area. I went by myself to Jack's Java Shop where I enjoyed a nice vanilla latte and conversation with the owner. By the time I got home in the dark, I was a bit chilly. I enjoyed the day!
