Drowned your bike?

From the latest issue of Dirt Rider.

Squeeze out the air filter and let it dry, remove your spark plug, flip a two stroke over (leave a four stroke upright), and crank over the engine until all the water's out.

Make sure you carry the tools needed to get to your air filter and spark plug out, spare plug not a bad idea either.

When I seriously drowned my 4-stroke last summer outside Crested Butte, the guys lifted my bike up to stand on the rear tire with exhaust pointing down to ground. They put the bike in a high gear then rocked it back and forth to get the valves to open and let water out of the system. We wrung the air filter out, too. Got it started back up fairly easily. Only thing hurt was my pride.

Troy, did you have to pull the plugs?

I'd add that when I did it, we drained the float bowl on the carb in case there was some water there.
