Any Super Sherpa riders???

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Super Sherpas and vertically challenged women. I'm considering one for the wife, she's 5'2" and I think I'm ready for her to step up to something a little more DS oriented. I'm not a fan of the XT225 as I've heard some bad things about them, and I generally think they're ugly.

I had one - my first dual sport. I choose it over the XT although I read many reviews that placed both bikes pretty evenly. I sold the bike about a year ago through the BTK web site to a guy around Wichita when I bought my KLX400SR, Kawasaki's DRZ. It is still pretty tall but not as tall as the KLX. Nice bike! Dennis McGowen, I think that is right, has one locally. I bought mine from a guy in Fort Wayne, Indiana who bought it in Canada and got it registered. The speedometer was in kilometers per hour which I solved by hooking up a speedohealer so the face still said kilometers but showed miles per hour.

XL 600, now Super Sherpa? You taking the long way round or what? Next thing you'l be kicking the tires of a Rokon or something.

Another bike to consider is the Suzuki DR200. That's what I bought for my wife to learn on before selling it to Danny in Oklahoma for his wife to learn on. She rode it on Hemphill's Eureka Springs ride earlier this year.

In my opinion, and I don't think people would argue, the DR200 is a lesser machine compared to the Super Sherpa or XT225. However, if you find one for a good price, it's a good, dependable, easy-to-ride option. I wanted an XT225, but could not find one in a timely fashion.

I've owned the DR200, DR350, and ridden a few DRZ400's. The construction and components of the DR200 makes it a toy compared to the 350 and 400. However, in my opinion, it is more than adequate for a learner bike or for anybody who never intends to ride it hard.

Another bike to consider that some find easy to ride because of the wide tires is the Yamaha TW200, although I've never actually seen one on the trail, so they are probably kind of hard to find.

Nobiman, on KTMTalk, bought his wife a 2006 KLX 250 and lowered it. He /She are both very impressed with it. Troy, KC, Hayden, and I have all seen her ride that bike down in AR.
