Hey all,
Just saying hi, moved to the KC area from the PNW a few months back. Now that I'm finally getting settled into the house, and Job and the family is as well, it's time to get my feet wet around here.
My Background, started riding dirt at 8 years old in Montana, first bike was an HD/Aermacci Shortster, then it just went sideways from there. Have owned way too many bikes to list here. Did some road racing in the PNW with WMRRA and OMRRA, off season was riding dirtibikes on the Olympic Peninsula. Wet/rocks/roots/mud etc.
A few years ago I decided (my body decided after a really good crash) to hang up the racing leathers and go the Adventure riding route, picked up an XR650R and converted it, was an awesome bike but a real bitch in the tight stuff, and a real pain in the rear on anything more than a few miles slabbing it. I converted to a BMW 800GS and put a many good trips on it. after moving here, I decided to go back to some HP and picked up an 1190 Adventure R.
All the while, my kids and wife have been doing some dirbiking too in the Idaho/WA/Montana mountains. Wife has a WR250R with Reckluse, mine is a KTM 450XCRW and my son and daughter have TTR125's. (No e-start, they need to learn the pain and anguish of stalling on a hillside)
so, here we are, looking for places to do some good ADV riding, and decent places to get the family out on the little bikes. I've hit Walter Ranch, which I really like, and also Cooper Creek this past weekend, where I met a couple of you.
I want/need to hit Chadwick at some point.
So, there you have it. Thanks for letting me spout off.

Welcome, Jengel451!
You are in some luck as we have a great family-friendly ride opportunity coming up! Keep an eye on the forum for the announcement soon.
Here is a tip to know when new rides are posted: subscribe to a forum. Most folks understand that when you post you are automatically subscribed to that topic thread. You can opt-out of course. But a lot of folks don't realize you can subscribe to an entire sub-forum so you are notified if any new topics are started. To do this, click on a forum like "Ride!" then look for the little subscribe icon in upper-right.

Re: FNG here
dang, Anniversary weekend, we're taking off without the kids.
I remember one time, way back in 2003 I decided to race on our anniversary weekend....I ended up in the hospital for a few days across the state and was in a wheelchair for 2 months......No riding on Anniversary weekends anymore.... haha

That's one of those things I just never had a chance to do, I always envied the people that could. Broken scapula on one side, and a cast on the other hand....just wasn't in the cards.
I should start cruising craigslist to find an old wheelchair, just to get it out of my system.
