A little note on "putting photos on RideForum.NET" for every one. This is a subject that folks seem to be confused about over and over.

I get asked a lot, "How do I get my pictures onto RideForum?" The answer is, "You don't!"

OK, technically, you can upload file directly to the forum, but I strongly discourage it. You'll end up with a link to your photos instead of an embedded photo AND you'll be using my server storage....I pay for that you know.

The magic is to understand the difference between "upload" and "embed". You don't want to upload your pictures--you want to embed them in your posts.

Embedding a photo means the photo is hosted somewhere (ANYWHERE ON THE PUBLIC INTERNET) and you use a URL to your photo to embed it in your post here in RideForum.NET using the IMG tags.

That "someplace" can be popular photo hosting services such as PhotoBucket, Smugmug, Google+ Photos, or a dozen others. It could even be a harddrive at your house if you are tech savvy enough to web-share your stuff.

So find a photo-hosting service, upload your photos there, enjoy your beautiful photo galleries on that site, and then cherry-pick photos you want to share on RideForum and embed them using whatever sharing links that service provides.

Here is a little tip if you are a DropBox user like I am. When you click to get a link to your photo in DropBox, it looks like this:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/a9m6zq0nji5gq ... 2.jpg?dl=0

If you add "&raw=1" to the end of that URL, it becomes a link you can use to embed in forums and such.

Yeah, it's geeky. It's hard to believe so many of these sites make it difficult to just use the photo other places, but the name of the game for most of them is to get you to go directly to their website where they can capture your traffic stats, usage patterns, get you to look (and click) on ads, etc.

That's the Pig Trail (23 south of 16 in AR) taken on Sunday if anybody was wondering. It'll be a while until anything but dirt bikes can get through there!

I spent 3 days at Mulberry Mt. a few weeks ago and drove down to the road closure and I wouldn't even want to take a dirt bike through that section. Looked pretty hairy from the south side.

It wasn't too bad. I managed to get the big DR 650 through there with a little bushwhacking and log hopping. It was definitely the slowest I've ever gone through that section (or any section) of Pig Trail! :lol:

Wow. I was there the Thursday after they closed 23 and there was about a 4-5 foot drop off from the pavement on the south side. I didn't hunt out any lines to see if it was passable but the whole slide looked like it could go again at any minute. Kind of spooked me just to be within a few feet of the pavement and definitely didn't look stable. Sucks for staying at Mulberry Mt because it makes a bunch of the big bike routes to the north a major pain to get to.

Then take the pipeline "road" North to Fly Gap. It's rough, but quite doable on a big bike normally. Mulberry Mountain Lodge owns that bit of land to get onto the pipeline and they have a gate over there that is usually open. Yeah the closure is south of Fly Gap but north of the road to the left right out of Mulberry Mt. I used the that road on my 300 on my first ride coming back to Mulberry Mt but there is some major quicksand like stuff only a hundred yards or so from the pavement that I got my dirt bike stuck in BAD. My front tire dropped into in to the point of the entire front tire was submerged in mud the consistency of peanut butter. If I would have been alone I would have never gotten it out. In fact I had two other buddy's and it still took us 10-15 mins to get it out. I would hate to see what would happen to someone who was really hauling when they hit it. All of the dual sport type riding I did was with my wife and my 73 year old dad so I didn't think it was the smartest to route them that direction after that little incident. That being said I always go north out of MM so I hit some more routes to the south this time. In fact I rode up to White Rock for the first time ever that weekend. Cool views.

Yeah, we were riding from north to south, so we had to go up the drop off that you mentioned. There was one spot where you could get a run at it and we had to kind of "jump" the bikes up the embankment to get up. The road bed below where the asphalt used to be was super loose and just kind of crumbled under our tires, which made getting any momentum tricky.

The good news is that if you are on a gravel-capable bike, there are ways to get around the landslide by using Fly Gap Road. I'd have to look at a map to be sure, but I believe that you could leave 23 on 215 and go east to Morgan Mountain Road north to Fly Gap Road west, which would pop you out north of the slide. Or, as Troy mentioned, you could ride the pipeline road/trail, but it can get pretty gnarly for anything bigger than a medium-sized dual sport.
