Walters Ranch

Pull up a couch. It's cool in the Lounge. Just remember to be a good neighbor.

Walters Ranch

Anyone ever been? Thinking about trying the place out sometime. Only about an hour away from KC near Clinton, MO and from my understanding some pretty good riding. Anyone interested in giving it a shot, let me know.

James and I have made a few trips down there.

PROS: Much larger than most riding areas suitable for a "day" ride from KC (Perry, Deepwater, etc..) I think they have 1700 acres, which is nice. Their single-track can be challenging in places, but nothing close to what we've been on in Arkansas.

CONS: No facilities at all. There is a general store/gas station about 4 miles from the entrance, which works out fine if you're on a plated bike (not sure if the local PD are tolerant of non-plated bikes in that area).

Also - James and I are on the east end of town (Blue Springs), and the drive is more like 2+ hours if memory serves.

Let me know if you decide to head that way, and I'll see if I can work it out on my schedule.

+1 on what Scott said. Walters is actually closer to lake of the ozarks then it is to KC area. For sure better than Perry. For my money I would rather take the extra hour, (2 hours roundtrip), and go to chadwick.

Definitely call before you haul as they lease the land every fall and winter for deer hunting. They usually close down one week after labor day weekend and won't reopen until Thanksgiving.

Fun place to ride there is some single track that the quads and utvs haven't discovered and destroyed yet.

Walters Ranch is south of Cole Camp. The riding area south of Clinton is known as Deepwater
