I used to love riding in the snow when I was young

Post by DonG »

When I was in high school, I loved nothing more then riding my XR100 in the snow in the field behind my house. And today, longing for days of yore, I decided to take the DR650 out for a ride in the field behind my house. Weeeeeeelllllll... Let me tell you.... a DR650 is a TAD heavier then an XR100, and "Dual sport" tires don't have quite the same grip in the snow as full knobbies do.   nothing broke on the bike (So far as I have found yet) our myself, although I think I will have a few more bruises then just my ego.

Soooo.... any one else do something stupid today?

I got the kids' e-bike out and let'm ride around. It was funny. He was slippin' all over the place, crashed a few times, accidently went into a donut. Then the dog was chasing him down and pullin on his snow pants.
Even though it would have been fun, I didn't feel like messing with the old gas bikes this time.
Ahhh, pre-mix!!

Since I bought my 350 EXC-F, I decided to setup my old 450 for the winter. Had a blast!

Touching the ground is for sissies.

In all seriousness, riding a dirt bike in snow-covered field is a blast. Slick pavement and/or ice not so much, but a snow-covered field is really, really fun to ride a dirt bike in....up to the point it's too deep to move of course.
