Now that cold and possibly a lot of rain are coming in I invite you to air your favorite beef, whine, whimper, nasal snarkiness or whatever else will keep you from going crazy until better riding weather returns. I'll start with the observation that it could be worse. Car & Driver reports that a replacement Michelin tire on the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is only $7,000.00. That is one pile of Dunlop MX 31 & 51s.

As I add stable to two of the four bikes, I console myself with thoughts of snowboarding in the very near future! Not riding stinks but snowboarding is an ok pastime while I wait on better weather to arrive!

On a older episode of Top Gear (the good BBC version) one of the few facts they spilled about the Veyron that I remember (there were tons), but:Stu wrote:Now that cold and possibly a lot of rain are coming in I invite you to air your favorite beef, whine, whimper, nasal snarkiness or whatever else will keep you from going crazy until better riding weather returns. 1.) The tires, at the Veyron's top speed (roughly 250 mph), will probably only last you 15 minutes before they give out.
2.) Which is fine, because at that speed, the fuel will only last 12.
3.) The Veyron, at roughly 230mph, sucks in as much air, in a minute, as you will breathe in, in four days.
4.) And, you'll need to insert a special key, inserted into a special slot, to be able to travel at the vehicles top speed.

Re: Winter's Here Whiner's Thread
The part I liked was ........... Sure a guy can buy a set of tires for $28K, but that doesn't include installation. That must be preformed in France for a cost of .......... according to Wiki............. $70K! I don't know if that is a typo or not, but even if you move the decimal point one to the left, that trip from KC to France will make it a pricy install.Stu wrote:Now that cold and possibly a lot of rain are coming in I invite you to air your favorite beef, whine, whimper, nasal snarkiness or whatever else will keep you from going crazy until better riding weather returns. That is why I sold my Veyron. I got tired of being nickel and dimed.

Go to youtube and do a search for "Veyron drove into lake" or something similar. If I remember the story right it wasn't even the owner driving. His son or something. Oh yeah salt water too. That can't be good for the worlds most expensive car.

Re: Winter's Here Whiner's Thread
This is a OFF-ROAD BIKE thread and not one about the Bugatti, as endearing as it may be to Troy. Sooooo, let's get the whimpering about riding back on track especially since we now have 90% chance of rain Friday night. Temps after this are mild for this time of the year so we could be looking at tacky trails!! Heaven on Dirt!! Hardly anything to complain about.
I was out at Perry today bombing around. The only one there. The dry creek bed was a blast. Just nailed it through there going up and out of the creek bed on obvious exits and then back in. Just a hoot. If you can, call in to work tomorrow & head out there. "I'm well. I'm not coming in today. I'm riding my dirt bike instead." Tell them I said it was OK.

I rode my F800GS to work today. A bit windy, but a nice day to ride. This weekend is full of family obligations, so no riding for me.
