Bikes stolen at Chadwick!

We need to show these thieves that the community is strong and connected. You steal a bike, you will not be able to sell it without getting caught because the word is out and we are looking.

Scroll to the bottom of the page to find out that several bikes were found and the thieves arrested.

I was at Chadwick the weekend that several of those bikes were stolen. Evidently, they came into the area up by the KC Pavilion and just took them right off the trailer while the owners were sleeping. There's some ballsy meth heads in that neck of the woods!

The ranger came over and informed us of this happening that following morning, so it was kind of a crappy start to that morning. Definitely not as crappy as the guys that lost their bikes the night before though!

Awesome! The best details seem to be on the HillBilly Gran Prix site. Starting about 1/2 way down this thread you see they arrested 2 guys and recovered several bikes and quads already.

From quick reading, it seems a couple guys on that site were doing their own detective work and following leads to bust these guys. I'd like to hear the details of this story!

Very cool. Glad they are getting them. I always used to think this would be easy to do but never secured my bike because I had never heard it happened. I will start securing now... what a PITA.

Sadly, this will most likely be the case. From what I read on the various forums, I believe that these guys are repeat offenders already. With any kind of luck, this latest incident will be their 3rd strike and maybe they'll be out (or in, as in PRISON) for a while.

On a lighter note, the thread that I linked to on thumpertalk now has a mugshot of the accused if anyone wants to know what a rural Missouri bike thief looks like.

That's about what I expected but he is a little cleaner cut than I thought he'd be. Love that beard though I think I'm going to start working on one of those....
