I just stumbled upon this CO2 inflator. MINIMAL size and apparently high quality and highly functional.

I've been carrying one of these on the bike, but it's bulky compared to the one above.

It holds 45 grams, 2 will do a rear.
They make a smaller one for bicycles & dirt bikes.
I have used them on several other peoples dead tires and it works well.
