TARKC meeting?

So, it is the first Tuesday of the month. Is anyone aware of a second meeting for the TARKC group that met last month? I haven't heard anything.

Yeah, I think they sent out an email shortly after the last one. I have it marked on my calendar here at work for tonight, so I'd say it is happening.

I don't think we're going to make it to this one, but have fun if you end up going.

I'm going to check it out. A few people on advrider confirmed that it is happening.

I'll let you know how it is Kendall. If you change your mind we can ride down together. I'm going to dust off the gsxr I think.

Yes we are going to have a meeting tonight. We thought for tonight we would socialize a little and maybe talk about recent rides we have been on and a possible future ride and meeting ideas.

I'm sure he did since he was staying there this past weekend for WUDI 14. I was at the Mulberry Mtn Lodge Sat night for dinner with my buddies staying in their "Star" cabins. I was staying up the road at the Fort Rock cabin--also attending WUDI. GREAT weekend, btw!

Were you down there, Foster?

Well, what did we miss? I would have liked to make it, but I promised a buddy that I would help him change some tires with my machine, so I didn't want to bail on him to do something else.

Hopefully, there were some good rides planned for the near future- I'm ready to do some more epic riding!

Were they both on KTM's? If so, they rode by our camp at one point, but didn't stop. I was really surprised that we didn't see more bikes at Mulberry, especially with WUDI and the HIllbilly Dual Sport going on. Also, I was surprised that we didn't see many bikes out on the road- I guess we must have been a little far south of ES to see too many.

We did a small teaser trail ride over at Mill Creek and I need to get down there for some riding on the new trail bike!

We've taken "TARKC meeting?" WAY off topic! ...and I'm fine with that! Other forums like to police this kind of stuff--I say let the organic discussions turn and twist however they will. :)

Speaking of TARKC, did any of you go? Randy & Steve, I'm sure you guys attended--how was the turnout? Sorry I missed it..I'm still catching up at work and home.

I read Foster's ride report--thanks for sharing. Looks like I need to hook you guys up with some dualsport loops for that area! Looks like you found some great roads and waterfalls, though!

For the most part, WUDI riders were N of Fly Gap road both E and W of 23. Mostly on singletrack that is hard to find without a guide.

On Saturday afternoon, I took 3 of us on a "dualsport" adventure that turned into a dirtbike ride through rough trails. We found an area laced with old roads and trails in the Delaney Creek area just S of Hwy 16. We started into this area by heading N down Possom Creek. Most of what we found in there would be good, rough stuff for your DRZs--folks looking for the gnarlier side of "dualsport".

You did good to stay at the Mulberry Mtn Lodge campground. You camped right where we have in the past--with that little stage in the corner I saw in the pics. Nice shower house there. The cabins are downright luxury if you ever want to skip the tents.

SO much great riding and scenic treasures to discover in that forest. :D

I went to the meeting. It was a good time. Not as many people as the first meeting, but a good motorcycle social hour. We ate, talked bikes, trips, and started planning a day group ride for later this month. More to come on that later :D

Y'all missed a good time. There is talk of having some meetings further North. I am hoping that happens but we will see.

We do need to hook up and ride that area. Sounds like you got a nice intimate tour of the area. Steve and Randy talked a bunch about the WUDI and it sounded awesome. A little over my head on the DRZ though, I think. I need to pick up a smaller bike so I can get into some trail riding :D

I would like to get involved. How would a guy get on the e-mail list for the TARKC meetings? Also a meet up north would be nice but if the masses are south I can see that being the go to area. Thanks and have a good one.

I attended the meeting. It was an enjoyable social hour.

I found out about the meetings because of this thread and on ADV. It sounded like most future information will be posted on this forum.

Not surprising since RideForum.NET is the premier dualsport/adventure/trail motorcycle forum on the Internet. Those AdvRider guys have been trying to emulate my formula for years.

Moriver...I've got you on the email list and we will also post here. Our next meeting will be May 1st, always first Tuesday of the month, but not sure where or what yet. Probably will meet North of the river for a change. Also, working on a one day ride and should have something posted by this weekend.

Troy, WUDI was great....can't believe how much single track....81 miles on Saturday with most of it ST....I was so tired that I could hardly stay up for the great basketball game Saturday night!

I plan to attend someday soon. I was in Dell's and was talking about a flint hills ride I went on and the saleman handed me a flyer. I also have their info posted on ChristianADVrider as well.
