I mounted the rear last week so today was the first time I tried them out. I'm probably the last person in the world to figure this out, but for riding a 600lb bike on gravel these are great!

Nice grip in the loose stuff, predictable in the turns, and I even found a little mud to slog through on the river road. Not too funky on the tarmac either.

Only thing I noticed was a lot of rear wheel hop going up hill on the throttle. I think that is about the limitations of my bikes suspension though.

Rear wheel hop is often too much possum scraper clearance, try the next lower setting.

Those look nice! I ran a circuitous route back from the morel patch, it would tie in nicely with Troy's Plattsburg route. I wasn't on a bike though.

On the subject of possum scraping...

A few years ago, my bike wasnt very old if that kinda tells you how many, I had a fj1200 that I was riding one early August evening on the edge of Springfield. In the middle of my lane was a possum that had met his fate sometime earlier. Probably much earlier. As a result of target fixation, not paying attention, ect I ran right over him. The result was possum all over the pipes, my boots, and in the lower fairing. Ewwww.

I was still finding residue for months after when I'd clean the bike. To this day when I see something in the road I want to avoid, I look away immediately and think of that smell.

I think yours was worse than mine.

Stock GS rear shocks are super easy to change the preload. I backed it off half a turn and sure enough that did the trick!
