I have a dead battery on the pumkin, so dead it won't hold a charge so I need to replace it. I was thinking about trying a turntech battery and wanted to know if anyone had tried one. Here is the link:

The only one I saw with one was Chadman and he had some problems with it but, I think it was a lose connection...
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Recently, I did some research to replace the battery on my KTM 300XCW. Initally I was going to get a Turntech battery but for the money the Shorai batteries are rated better. I've had mine a few months now without any problems.

Chadman had an issue but it was a shorted wire that kept discharging the battery completely. No battery can handle that. He found the grounded wire and that fixed the problem.
I have a standard battery bought at Battery Wholesale in KCK (near 7th and Osage). Been in there for a few years. I put a battery tender on it every once in a while (I switch it over from my F650 for a day ... turns green almost immediately).
That, to me, is the simple solution.
There is a one or two year period where the KTM RFS battery box was smaller for a smaller battery. Larger battery box is cheap and fits.

59011055100 Battery Carrier plast.Black 05, is required if you currently have the 4 series battery. So if your bike had the 5 series before, then the 7 series battery will fit with no problem. If it is not a Yuasa battery, then I have no idea. You will probably need the taller battery tray.Thats what i had to do when i switched from a 4 size to 7. I believe that was only on the 04 bikes, 03 and then 05 and up they had the bigger battery,

Thanks for the replies. I think I might have a something going on with the a steady discharge issue too. The previous owner did some creative wiring, just saying.... so I will have to run that down.

It has been very durable and survived all the pounding it has been subjected to.
Shorai batteries have been very well reviewed. They are more expensive but in a dirt bike they should last longer than a lead/acid battery.

Was the bike converted from AC/DC split to a full DC system? Easy way to determine: headlight only work when engine running? If so, probably AC/DC split. Assuming OEM split system:
Bike off. Disconnect one of the battery wires. Insert an ammeter in series. Measure current. Should be zero. If not, you have a problem. Battery on these only feeds starter and possibly fan. If not zero, a TurnTech isn't going to solve your problem.
The RFS bikes use one of the poles of the stator to power the ignition, so battery isn't needed or involved.
BTW, where do you store the bike? You have brought bad gasoline on a couple of trips now ... how does that happen? High heat? Reason I ask is the heat could be affecting the battery if bike is stored close by. I have stored plastic gas cans in my barn for more than 6 months and not had a problem.
