KTM Clutch fluid...What do most people use?

I need to flush out my clutch (lever) fluid, re-fill and bleed it.
I am NOT buying the expensive Motorex fluid from KTM. I am either going to use baby oil or transmission fluid as I have plenty of both on hand. Does it matter what type of tranny fluid is used? I have synthetic ATF on hand. I think there was a discussion here a long time ago about this. What do most people use and recommend from experience??

Ok then, good discussion. :D
I found a quart of regular ATF in the cabinet so that is what I used. My clutch seems to be happier but I didn't have a chance to go out for a test ride.
BTW: I rode School Creek Saturday and had a really great time.
The weather was nice and cool and there was like 5 other people there all day.

Either choice was fine to make.

Thanks Stu

I did my research and found plenty of recommendations on types of mineral oils to use like baby oil, tranny fluid, fork oil, etc.. I was hoping to get some insight on what might be the best alternative to the expensive Motorex Clutch Fluid. Maybe someone used cheap J&J baby oil and had seal failure for instance.

I had a left over quart of 10w Showa racing fork oil that I will probably never use but chose to use regular ATF for the convenience of accessablility. I can get it almost anywhere I might be...any auto parts store, Wal-Mart, convenience stores, truck stops and so on.

I use syn-ATF in my forks. Started doing that when I had a fork seal blow out in CO and didn't have enough fork oil along. Works fine. So one less fluid to carry along ...

BTW, I have baby oil in my clutch. Trouble was finding the unscented type. I doubt the scent would make a difference, but didn't want to take that chance.
