At least every spring and fall, we take a trip to the ozark national forest to ride. Our group has ranged anywhere from 8-20. We ride mostly small bikes on challenging trails. This year, in addition to small bikes, we are going to have a group riding big bike friendly trails.
Listed below is the email I sent out regarding the fall ride:
Hey Guys,
Considering a weekend date for our Fall 2022 ride, my first inclination was to pick the last weekend in October. As a result of the history of picking rain weekends, I thought it prudent to back off one weekend and go with October 20-23. Time will tell if this is a smart strategy or not.
Like the last couple years, we will base out of, Long Pool Recreation area.

There are plenty of campsites but only 20 that have water and electricity. They are first come first serve. In the past, we haven't had a problem securing our required number of sites. If the weather and my schedule cooperate, I would go down a day early and attempt to hold some sites.
Last year, a few of us rented an rv.

This seemed to work well and wasn't very expensive.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Regardless of weather, we always have a good time.
