This is VERY LAST MINUTE, but many times, that's just how I roll. So keep up!

It's not certain who (if anybody) is going to come along, but the plan is to ride to Golden City, MO to eat lunch and pie at Cooky's Cafe. This came about as a result of a thread on AdvRider titled, Great Midwestern Pie Hunt. Here is the post where I talk about Cooky's Cafe.

I do not yet have a route planned, but doing the fastest route (straight down 71--yuck) is about 2.5 hours. I figure it will take me 3.5. Most likely this will be pavement all the way--depends on who and what bikes are along. I'm good either way on my Weestrom.

I'd like to get there about 1 or 1:30 for a big, relaxed lunch and pie. They are famous for their pies, and I had the best brisket of my life there.

Who wants to meet at Latte Land on the Plaza at 9:30 before heading to Golden City? UPDATE: NO on Latte Land, YES on QuickTrip at Hwy 69 & 151st at 9AM!

If you reply, I will get it. Or you can call me if you'd like to hook up. 816.739.9653

Hey Troy,

I was planning a solo ride tomorrow, but this ride looks interesting. Not sure I want to take slab all the way down there, but I can adapt. You know, that's Steve Leivan country. I bet we could drop by his place for some riding tips and a Stag beer with old man Frank! I know he's got a half dozen WR's in the barn and a practice track in the backyard. Could be fun.

Let me know if you're open to running some gravel. I could hook up with you somewhere South of town.

NO on the Plaza Latte Land. My apologies if this gets confusing for anyone trying to decide whether to come along or not, but like I said, this came together last minute.

At this point, it is likely that some riders will meet at the QT at Hwy 69 & 151st (SE corner) at about 9AM. Yeah, in about 75 minutes.

I'm hoping that everyone (3 of us?!) will be cool with some gravel, because I'd like to include gravel and take my time down and back.

I'm gonna bail on you today and try again tomorrow. Not liking this fog.

That fog was a bitch! Lasted over half-way to Golden City. After that, it was SO BEAUTIFUL to ride!

Just got home. Fuhgawee (AdvRider handle) and I had a really good ride and a fantastic lunch. Too many pies to try them all, but the rhubarb and pumpkin were quite fine!
