Nice report, wish you weren't the victim of idiocy. Hope the wife is doing as well as can be expected.
I got rear ended by a big ol Sprinter van a couple of weeks ago. Idiot was yaking on his cell phone and didn't note that 3 cars had stopped for somebody making a left turn. I watched it all in my rear view mirror. Thankfully my 5 month old, who watched it all from his rear facing car seat, was fine too. Mellow kid, he didn't make a peep. In hindsight I should have poked/pinched my son in the side to get him to start screaming and crying to make the moron a bit more anxious.

Hope the wife is doing good.

I thought it would be worse, and after my '85 XR600R I had, I was prepared for the worst. However, it wasn't that bad. Overlander (the owner of the bike) had the bars isolated pretty well. The only vibration was in the pegs, and my A*'s do pretty well at getting rid of that. We put a corbin on it to lower the seat height a smidge, but the corbin was as thin as a pancake and about as comfy as one. We were planning a 12-14 hour day for Tuesday, then mosey into NM early evening of today. Then it was whatever length rides I could do while down there, so besides Tuesday, and slabbing it back on Sunday, not overly too much riding going on. I thought I'd be a lot more sore today, but I'm actually good.
