Box Turtle Road?!

Dave Hemphill is the guy to talk to about box turtle road. We (greenboots, hemphill and I) do a +/- 125 mi route out of Lawrence, through 2 creek crossings out side of Topeka, then on to Eskridge, then to a few unmaintained roads including Box Turtle Road, and Back to Lawrence. It's a must ride for anyone who has not been there. Beware of the mud, it's sticky as snot. If it has rained an inch in the previous 3 days, it can be really bad.
Thr ride fits well in a time frame from 10am-3pm.
A group of 5 would be a good time!

Some one mentioned riding a KLR on roads above. Having owned a KLR and definatly pusing it to the limits, I would avoid it if it was muddy.
I've heard the '08 KLR is very different. Anybody seen one?

I should see mine tomorrow, if they get it out of the crate.

Monday before Memorial Day, from my garage. Found a day later, stripped and kicked out of a truck up off of 92 near Kearney. Took all the racy parts, dented the frame, broke and bent the forks, bent the front wheel, tweaked the subframe. Totalled.

That sucks! I had a moment of silence for your bike. Any parts that would be very noticable? I would keep my eyes open.

Except for the tiny issue of the wrongly accused, man I wish we could simply cut the hands off thieves like they did in the good ole days. That would HAVE to be a major deterrent to small crime.

Yeah, that first week was tough. The wife was out of town, and I was running a CNC at work all week. I'd program the machine, then sit there for hours watching it cut and think of all the revenge I wanted. Then I'd go home, sit alone with a beer and think of all the stuff I would have done if I caught them in the act.

Here's a link with a link to pictures. The exhaust is probably the most recognizable thing, as it's pretty one-off. The guy that made it only sold thirty or so of them nationwide.

But, enough threadjack. I'm still in, as long as Liberty Cycle gets the bike in order by then.

I believe it was "Judge Carlos" (Carlos Mencia) who said: "Which hand was it? Let me see it...CLINK!! We don't have jails, we just have a bunch of f@#$%$! hands in the back. NOW GET OUT OF HERE!!"
