So I took the kids to the Omaha zoo this weekend and Sunday morning we headed up to a little cemetery right outside Loess Hills state park (Preparation Cemetery) to see where my great, great, great grandpa is buried and realized this area looks like a good change of pace for KC folks who normally head south to the Ozarks. Planning on taking the bike up there soon. Anyone in the know on this area?

Re: Loess Hills
I have ridden the area a number of times. It is a fantastic area to ride except on the dirt roads after a rain. I can highly recommend picking up the Loess Hills along the MO River north of St. Joe, MO by the town of Amazonia, MO and riding north. The hills north of Omaha are also worth riding.

Nice photos!
Re: Loess Hills
I assume this is a hiking trail? And perhaps mountain bikes are allowed, too? I want to take my mountain bike up there and ride this! More details on how to find this trail?

Re: Loess Hills
I walked about a half mile of that trail last week and there is signs at the start that show a person walking. So it looks to be a hiking only trail. It starts at the Loess Hills overlook inside the state park. Not sure how to tell you exactly how to get there but search Google maps for Preparation Cemetery. Once there go west on the road in front of the cemetery and the next cross road will have signs pointing to the overlook. Only a couple miles from the cemetery to the north west.
Good pictures Eddie. If I can get away from work in a few weeks the wife and I might take the bikes up there. There is an indian pow-wow the 18-21 of August in Macy, NE that my wife would like to check out.

Re: Loess Hills
BTW Troy... Eddie's picture doesn't do those drop offs to the sides of the trail justice. They are way steeper and higher than they look in that picture.
