I hope this is in the right place. Not a tap talk expert. Planning to ride gravel from Bonner springs too Atchison and back. Not sure about rook or river front roads or min maintenance, might be too muddy have to see. Big bike or whatever. Dq on 32 highway.
I plan to do allot of half day rides this spring and summer. Good way to get in 150 200 miles without the hassles of over planned weekends. At least every other week I hope. Pm me if interested.

Re: Ne kansas 11am april 9
River front is now open and plowed. Its really loose plow so if you going, go now! Its going to be mud mess after a rain. 227th, Mt Olivet, and a lot of other min main roads where all just plowed/ tilled whatever. At first I was wondering what that black stuff was, its just lose loam dirt.
Rook was plowed but still very rutty. 218 was plowed and kind of rutty.
Mt Olivet & 215
Rook looking up from a safe spot just before going down that hill
Rook looking down
Chased a calf in a field back to its fence (not skill it was terrified - it wanted to be anywhere but with this tard circling it). Chased a deer across a stream. Got chased by a f*ing lot of dogs. Ran through some turkeys at high speed and they where bouncing off branches and me (I love doing that, I see a gaggle I gun it right into'm, it don't hurt to get hit, clawed maybe). The pigs where out at the bottom of Rook and not afraid. I was still spooked and wanted a drink from coming down, so I stopped but once I saw they where interested in me I split. I saw the goat video. No thanks with a herd of pigs. Going back up Rook was stupid. I about busted my ass at the top. I need to get some real adventure boots before I bust myself up. I gunned it and headed up in second standing. I hit those big rocks right at the top, dumped into the middle rut, bounced out and aimed for falling off the road, yanked it back and bounced across the top almost into a sideways log on the road, missing it by inches, feet flying everwhere [boots needed with those ski type locks] , screams where heard a mile a way. I thought it was suppose to be easier going up nasty stuff. Not Rook, not for me. But I don't usually do really messed up terrain either.
Fun day. Dual sport! 140 miles gravel, 135 paved. Next time no Rook/River Front and keep going to Nebraska from Bonner Springs.
A note - if I lived on some road that had no outlet I would like post a sign. Went down a lot of those today. I will drive down anything not signed, fenced, a gate or has a mail box on it. The worse the road, I am there, turning around for a look and going back for a quickie loop detour. I don't mind driving down field roads to nowhere, they can be fun in their own right I guess, but if it went to my house I would probably put a sign on it [like Mac's]. I just feel bad barreling up to someone's drive and they are unloading stuff and bam I right there with them. Or detailing their car with me there to hand them a towel as I slide to halt, gravel and dust flying [happened!].
