Weather is looking good.
Speak up if you are "IN" please. I want to make sure there will be rooms in a couple of towns.
At this time it looks like 3 suckers are following me.

The weather looks good now but could change. No route is set in stone. If interested in this ride keep an eye on the FIRST POST. I'll post there when and were to meet.

I'm swapping tires between bikes this afternoon.
Count me in.

Does anyone want to meet for dinner one evening this week to do some pre ride planning? We could even invite folks that aren't gonna go, but want to see us before the effects of frostbite and repeated crashing on the ice.

HA. That would be an option for people who actually prepped their bikes for this ride before the final week!
Today I finally swept the 800 pounds of dirt out of my garage and unburied the F800GS. (Seriously, it was buried.) I remembered that it "needed some work" before the next ride, but could not remember what those items were. It needs an oil change and both tires replaced. I would do a day ride on the tires, but not a 3 or 4 day weekend ride with lots of pavement. The rear tire has a large hole so I'd have to fix it anyway. In addition, the larger headlight glass is cracked. I may not fix that before the ride, but I'll take care of the other items.
Oh and it would not start because the battery was too low. It would just click. So like a good BMW owner, I had it towed to the dealer. JUST KIDDING. I charged the battery. Fun thing is that I can change the oil myself, but as I understand, I have to take it by the dealer sometime to have them clear the idiot "SERVICE" light.
I'm still on the fence about going on the ride as my cat has been sick. If she's not better by Fri, I'll have no choice than to stay home to nurse her.

Troy have you given up scrapbooking and Barbie museums for cats. What is happening!!
I found one of our cats hit on the road today so I guess my cat excuse is gone now. Of course I could stay home and morn....but what better way to get over it than take a cold ride.

Friday looks to be the coolest day with a high of 35 and sunny (if you believe the weather this far out).
I'm have a few ideas for Saturday night in a neat small town with limited accommodations and need to get somewhat of a head count AND if you want to share a room. Chris and I prefer our own room. What about the others?

I'm fine with the expense of a solo room. I'm also fine sharing a bathroom with a well-behaved roommate. Note that my wife has complained lately about my snoring. ZZZZZZZZ

Is it more birds than 4 or 5 of us can stuff in our luggage? We could deliver them on our way to the Miss.

Anybody can "put it on the calendar"! Time to ride! You coming or what?
Stimmer?!
Get that 990 ready.
Guys, how many opportunities do you get to follow the
2013 GS GIANT for an entire weekend and learn his secrets?!
Eddie is threatening to lead us up the infamous Lost Creek Rd.

I hope it's not as deep this weekend as it was for these guys! (Soundtrack is horrid in this video.)

Sounds like fun but Saturday is my parents 50th wedding anniversary party. Worst son ever if I left town to ride instead.

Not so fast there, Eddie. Fluffy's not doing so good--took a turn for the worse yesterday. Looking like a no-go for me. HAHAHAHAHA!
Chris, are you still mad about that little creek crossing in AR?! I hope you aren't thinking "payback" for this weekend.

Lock your door at night Troy or you could have an unpleasant surprise.

No, I'm over it. Mostly.
Today my new pair of heated gloves arrived, but I've discovered I forgot to check the "send long cables" box when I ordered them. Good news is the WarmnSafe folks will ship tomorrow - overnight.
Those gloves are now gonna cost a third more than they should have......
After a little more research I think Motorcycle Closeouts has what I need. I'll call them tomorrow.
