It is looking like rain Sat. night and Sun. (now 40% chance from NOAA). High Sat. is projected to be 43 degrees. What about gathering in the parking lot between 12:30 and 1 and riding? I am heading out today to stitch together some trails that will give you a new perspective on the gorgeous vistas only available at Perry.... It will be fun.
Troy, if you can make it you will be delighted. A guarantee.
Rick, did you get your 350 yet? Nice of you to offer a fellow rider a helping hand.

Kendall didn't get back to me yet but I'm figuring on picking it up Saturday morning so I can meet you at Perry at 12:30. I suppose I'll bring my Honda along just in case the deal falls through. I think Perry will be great. No mud. No crowd. Looking forward to it.

"Is this a private ride date?"
Decidedly not. It is for RideForum members and their friends. A way to get together before the winter hits us which is coming Saturday night with a mix of snow and rain for Sunday and Monday.
Rick, I will see you about 12:30! I was out late yesterday afternoon and managed to figure out a fun new path around the place. I even found traces of mud! Like last weekend I intend to poke along to keep the dust at a minimum. The high for the day is supposed to be 54. Much like last weekend.

I haven't gotten to take the DR-Z off road since the Arkansas trip, so count me in on Saturday. My brother (jasbaum) is working on getting his on-call schedule freed up as well. See you at 12:30!

My wife's going shopping in KC, I never have ridden in that area, thinking about taking bike up and riding for awhile.
But I'm watching weather for rain, not a big fan of playing in the rain. Just looking at my options

Where is the place you guys meet?
The boss has not gave me permission yet, because of time constraints but, the day is not over yet!
How long do you plan to ride?
Watched some videos of the place very different than Eagle Ranch, looks like fun open trail system.

There is just a parking lot at Perry. Not hard to meet up with others.

Rain: we got a sprinkle today that did not even cover my driveway. Possibly more sprinkles tonight. That will help settle the dust but not make riding difficult at all.
Location: Perry Lake, north of Perry, KS, a wide spot in the road. The only paved road north (Ferguson Rd.). Head up about 5 miles until you see the "Dam Store" (closed for the season) on your left, Turn left at the store on Spillway Rd for about 1/2 mile. Just past the entrance for the park headquarters you will see a gravel road into the ATV riding area on the left. Turn in and park. Look for either a white Outback or an older VW Van. Dunno which I will be in.
Side stands up at 12:30! Be ready to see some real trails!

I thought the ride at Perry on the 8th was great. We had a chance to rip up and down the creek since it is dry. I tormented some with trails that were difficult and pleased other with hidden and unridden trails that I took all of the participants on. In the end I only had a few people following me and they wanted to go to the riding area at Big Springs (Bender's property) and ride. So I took off for that. I did ask if anyone in the remaining group knew the trails at Perry and one person said they did and they were off to ride more. A great day riding! Sunday ended up blustery and cold. At the time we took off on Saturday it was 54. The same time today was 34. We chose the right day.

Stu - thanks for coordinating this ride. Randy, James, and myself were the guys who stuck around, and had a great time. The weather was perfect, and the trails were nice and dry.

Scott,
Thanks! I did like bombing up and down the creek as well. Don't get to do that very often but then it has not been this dry in a very long time. We need to get together and do this again! I'll watch the weather and post a ride when it looks good. I could spend all day out there. Fun trails.
