Anybody going to ride that day, I need a guide and I prefer a dirt/gravel path!

The "back country" up this way is not as interesting as the back country where you live. Also, it can be 20+ miles of pavement just to get out of the metro--depends on where you leave from of course. I'm not trying to be a debbie downer, but want to make sure your expectations are appropriate.Rusty Jug wrote:We can do a ride after you get off work until dark!I would like to see some back country and a place to eat off the beaten path sweet! This foodie is all in!
If it works out?
Yes I am willing to do the ride on sat......will have to do a little more checking on the schedule to make sure sat. is open.troy wrote:The Fri & Sat forecasts are not bad--sunny and above 50 degrees.
Birdman (Larry) has a route he wants to lead in Eastern Anderson County, KS. (90 minutes S of the metro.) He knows a lot of the minimum maintenance and other interesting roads and sights down there. A highlight of the route is to stop for lunch at the Charlie Brown Grocery store in Mildred, KS where a couple of grandma's in the back run a deli. The sandwiches are supposed to be very good. Larry, I wonder if they might be closed this weekend on extended Thanksgiving holiday?
Larry, are you game to lead your route this Saturday? If Eddie is not hunting and not out of town this weekend (unlikely!), he knows the good stuff down that way.
We have options.
I now have a T- dinner invite so my T- day ride will be short and close to homebird man wrote:I plan/hoping to ride on Thursday either way. Ride route and destination is yet to be determined. So I am open to possibilitys if any one wants to ride on T day. T- day ride could possibly/likely end up being a black roads (secondary/county paved rds ride.)
There aren't any riding parks in kc.The two closest are Perry, Northwest of Lawrence and Deepwater which is a few miles south of Clinton on Hwy 13. In my opinion neither one of them is worth the drive.Rusty Jug wrote:My base camp is anywhere, 40 miles out of town at a riding park.
I'm trailering to start point, any good riding parks?
