Dell's Powersports in Blue Springs, MO has organized a dual sport ride for this coming Sunday, Sept 9, 2012.

Here is a link to their page with the info.

http://www.dellspowersports.com/event_l ... nputpage=1

If the link doesn't work (this is my first post), here are the highlights:

Tonganoxie High School
Gather at 9:30a
Depart at 10:00am
Lunch at 1pm
Return at 4pm

I live in Blue Springs, and normally hook up with my brother for these rides. He can't make this one, though, and I just sold my only car that had a trailer hitch. Don't feel like riding my DR-Z that far on I-70 to and from the jumping off point, and I have to work late Sunday night, so don't want to wear myself out entirely.

Hoping to find someone from the Blue Springs/Independence vicinity that has room on a truck or trailer for my bike. I can drive separately, if necessary.

anyone planning to do this ride? I have never done a group dual sport ride and since this is leaving the town where I live its kind of hard to pass up.

I don't know anyone planning on it yet, but I'm sure there will be folks riding of course. I've never done one of the Dell's Powersports rides; nor have I even been to Dell's before. They seem like an active dealer that works to put together events for the riding community--I like that.

I looked at photos from one of their previous dualsport rides, and I did not recognize anyone. Apparently there are dualsport riders in the KC metro that are not actively part of our RideForum.NET community?! GASP!

Just kidding of course--I've never really tried to spread the word about RideForum.NET, but I know some of you have, and it's been good for the community. I should at least make an effort to make sure the area motorcycle dealers know about us.

g1shadow, don't hesitate to go on the ride or have any reservations about your "first group dualsport ride". The only thing you really need to know to do a group ride vs solo is that you are responsible for the rider behind you. The rule is, you stop at all intersections (or any place a rider might be confused about which way to go) until you are sure the rider behind sees you. Oh, and don't run into the guy in front of you--folks tend to hate that. 8)

"When racing, you watch the rider ahead of you. When trail riding, you watch the guy behind you."

Thanks for posting the ride, jasbaum.

Jasbaum, Wasn't it you and your brother who rode with us to Weston a couple months ago? I rode in a Dell's ride in May and it was a good time....did you ride or was that your brother?

Yes, that was me and my brother that went with you guys to Weston.

As it turns out, my brother's conflict for this Sunday got rescheduled, so we are planning on going on this ride together. Maybe we'll see some of you there.

Dell's does put together good dual-sport rides. Usually at least a dozen show up.
