Some of you may be riding there on Sunday but I'm off this weekend and Saturday is the only day I can ride.
Nothing fancy, nothing formal, just some guys getting together to rip up some good trails :!:
I'll be there in my black Dodge Ram and KTM 400 and my buddy will be in his big bright blue Dodge on a Honda CR450F.
Haven't seen some of you guys in a long time so if you can make it, come on out.
I'll be there early morning.

We're coming in Friday afternoon and camping all weekend, so we will probably ride a bit on Saturday as well.

We'll be in a white F-150 with a green KLX 250 and a 350 EXC-F. See you there.

I'll never understand why anyone would make plans in advance that don't involve motorcycle riding.

So, I take it you're not going to make it out to Milford for some trail riding?

The reasons I can't get out for any adventures are beyond my control. I've got my head in the books most of the time. It's a bummer. I've had enough time to get my fix from little local rides and thats it. For now I just check out my previous rides and wish I was out again.

That's too bad. Hopefully the head in the books will end with some sort of payoff/reward! I'm going to try and ride as much as I can from here on out, whether I have to do it on the dirtbike, dual sports, street bike, or mountain bikes. I've realized that I'm just not that satisfied with anything unless it involves two wheels.

All the more reason for me to get my wife involved in all my hobbies- then I don't have to run it by her since most of the time, she is coming with me!

Where was that picture taken? Looks like a cool place to ride.

I'm going to take a stab at it...it looks like the Stockdale Park area of Tuttle Creek Lake???

I'd have to look to find the exact name of the road, but it is West and North of Olsburg.

Just a head's up-we're sitting in our pop up at Curtis Creek campground watching it rain pretty good. Not sure if it is enough to ruin the riding area for the weekend or not. We'll know better tomorrow for anyone coming Sunday- I'll update this thread if it is bad.

Thanks for the heads up, been watching the weather trying to figure out if it's actually going to rain much or not. Supposed to taper off tomorrow. I may sit at home in the morning and have an extra cup of coffee until I hear from you. If it doesn't rain buckets, the East side of School Creek dries pretty quick and is usually still ridable.

Seems to be calming down now. I probably won't be able to give much of an update tomorrow since we'll have to actually ride over there from the campground. If it's so nasty that we just turn around and come back to camp I'll post to let you know.

Just got done setting our camper back up. We thought it would be a good idea to get a campsite with a nice lake view. Unfortunately, that lake view came with some hellacious wind coming off the water! We tried to ride it out, but my paranoia about damaging the camper took over at midnight. We decided to play it safe and put the pop up down and had to sleep in the truck.

I'm not sure how much rain we got or how the riding area will be, but we'll probably go check it out in a while.

Kendall and Alissa: It was great to meet and ride with you!!

It was deceptively slick in most spots in the morning, but after lunch the conditions were near perfect. Nice and cool and NO dust. Man I love that place.

Good meeting you guys too. We wanted to come back after lunch, but Alissa decided she would rather do some dual sporting instead since she was having traction problems with her crappy tires. We actually had a nice ride up the west side of the lake heading north and ended up looping around and getting gas in Wakefield.

Sunday was perfect conditions. The dirt was just right- not so wet that it was slick, but not so dry that it was dusty. Chris (ozarksrider), Alissa, and I had a great time running around trying to piece together some good trails. Chris was admittedly pretty green when it comes to trailriding, but he rode well and seemed to be getting better at negotiating obstacles by the minute. Not to mention, he didn't let anything get the best of him- a couple of times he missed completing a hill climb by inches and he would go down and try it again!

Definitely update the forum when you guys are going to go out to Milford in the future. It is a bit of a haul for us, but Alissa loves riding there and I enjoy it too. Next time I am bringing a machete, hatchet, and/or chainsaw. Its a shame some of the good trails are so overgrown you can barely ride them.

This was a great afternoon. Thanks Kendall and Alissa for showing me around. I thought the weather was perfect, and the trails are really nice. Hills, a few rocks, and of course the hill climbs!

Do you ever run a GPS on your bike? My brother Troy and I did a camp N ride weekend at Milford a few years back. There are a number of Geocaches around the lake including one that used to be inside the School Creek riding area. It was a pretty fun ride all the way around the lake finding the caches. We may have to do that again sometime soon.

That was a good time, KC! I also remember it was August and 100 degrees in ATGATT. We had dualsports and jetskis at the lake---a good weekend.

Also, it looks like there are a lot more caches around the lake now.

You guys are brothers!?!?! It makes sense now that I think about it. As soon as I met Kyle, he seemed familiar- must be because you are brothers!

As for the GPS, I don't have one for the bike yet. It is on the list of things to buy, but I am finding that keeping my 4 motorcycles, pop up camper, truck and car are taking up most of my money and not to mention time! I definitely want to get one eventually and hope that will be soon.

We just kind of scooted around when we were out there, but it looked like there might be some good dual sporting potential out there- we should get a ride weekend going one of these days.

Some of my buddies that used to ride out at Milford back when it was still allowed to camp at the riding area were telling stories about camping right on the beach and riding motorcycles and jet skis all weekend. They'd go out there during the summer and ride bikes in the mornings/evenings when it wasn't too hot and do the jet ski thing during the high temps in the middle of the day. Sounds like it would be a good time and could still be done except for the no camping allowed policy in the riding area now.

At one time I had every cache found around the lake. That is not the case any more.
