Routes
You can view the routes on DualsportMaps.com (DSM)

DSM allows you to download to GPX format, but I've provided some files here to make it even easier. I recommend this GPX file that is track-based. (More on that later.)

If you really requires "routes", this file may work for you instead.

Everybody has their own system for how they use their GPS-- a topic too big to explain here! Depending on which GPS device you have, these files may or may not work for you. I can tell you both work on the Garmin 60 series. From what I understand, the tracks-based file may not work for older Zumo models that don't do tracks.
One reason I use tracks instead of routes is that with tracks on my 60CS, I can have them all visible at the same time on my map which lets me ride along and see other options as I go along. With routes, I can only have one route showing on my map at a time. Routes provide navigation assistance while tracks just show the line. For dualsport and off-road riding, I don't want navigation assistance, I just want to see the line and I'll follow it. These are reasons I use tracks instead of routes.
The tracks I created have a high degree of detail, and therefore a lot of points. Because of this, the "route" for a day is actually several track segments. Here's how to use these files:
I have created a "LONG" route and 2 "SHORT" route options.
LONG route (160 miles)
Designed for the all day Saturday ride
LONG-A (32 miles)
Campground SE to a point NE of Buffalo, MO
LONG-B (21 miles)
From where A stops E to Bennett Springs State Park. This little town offers the 4th largest spring in MO as well as
Hillbilly Burgers--supposedly a good burger. I assume gas is available here?
LONG-C (13 miles)
Bennett Springs NW to the Amish "Lead Mine Country Store", which would make a nice pit-stop for a drink and perhaps ice-cream if they are making some.
LONG-D (12 miles)
N from Amish store to Chapel Bluff Rd. Optionally, if you did not eat lunch at Bennett Springs, take
LONG-J (8 miles) into Tunas to eat at Rooster's BBQ.
LONG-E (16 miles)
NE to
Ha Ha Tonka State Park where you can stretch your legs as you hike to see the old castle.
LONG-F (17 miles)
North then W to Mack's Creek area
LONG-G (15 miles)
N through Mack's Creek area to Climax Springs
LONG-H (14 miles)
Climax Springs S to Mule Shoe Conservation Area
LONG-I (21 miles)
SW back to camp at Pomme de Terre Lake
SHORT routes (81 or 32 miles)
You can string the "SHORT" segments together to create a couple of recommended routes.
SHORT option #1 (81 miles)
This route includes what could be some VERY good and very rugged creek crossings, but like most of this stuff, it is untested by me. Things may not work out as planned! You have been warned.
SHORT-A (16 miles)
NW from camp at Pomme de Terre Lake across the dam and includes the old
Dorman bridge.
SHORT-B (16 miles)
This is possibly the gold-mine segment! It includes 4 creek crossings. The first half of this track I've ridden before. Good, rough road with a muddy creek crossing--could be an issue if the area has seen much rain. The last half starts where you make a sharp turn to the East. I've confirmed this is open road on the MODOT county map, but I figure maybe a 50% chance this is actually road you can travel. The
satellite imagery shows 3 significant creek crossings (See Bauer Rd). If it works out, it will surely be the highlight of the routes.
SHORT-C (24 miles)
N then E then S around Granny's Acres Conservation Area
SHORT-D (16 miles)
S to State Hwy U. Includes what looks to be a remote road that crosses a creek. MODOT map says this is in fact a legit road, so hopefully it will work out! If not, route around--it's called "Adventure".
At the end of this segment, you can follow alternate SHORT-F (7miles) W for about 2 miles to see the old
Rough Hollow bridge.
SHORT-E (9 miles)
S back to camp at Pomme de Terre Lake.
SHORT option #2 (32 miles)
Only have an hour or 2 to ride? This is the option for you. Sting these tracks together to make the loop.
SHORT-A (16 miles)
NW from camp at Pomme de Terre Lake across the dam and includes the old
Dorman bridge.
SHORT-F (7 miles)
A larger part of this segment includes a rugged road section that may not work out, but the work-around is easy--just stay on the main road, which will be obvious. Near the end of this segment is the old
Rough Hollow bridge. Stop and take some photos.
SHORT-E (9 miles)
S back to camp at Pomme de Terre Lake.
