First, thanks to the 6 of you that showed up yesterday (Sun.) for our ride at Big Springs (BS). The weather was perfect and the trails a lot of fun. For those of you that would like to repeat the ride this Sat. bring a check for $50 that will get you in until May 1, '12 (the renewal date).

1:00. Weather will be dry and about 45 degrees. Fabulous for Jan. 28! Troy, can you come out and try it out? Hank? For those of you that know him Dave Hodges should be out there for his first time also. I can lead the first timers. David and you repeat offenders can beat up the trails as you wish.

First time riders: refer to the Jan. 21 BS thread for a map.

Crazy525exc you are a madman! Loved watching you ride that 525 like it was a 2-stroke. And none of your wheelies ended with a taste of tree bark. And with street legal Metzler knobbies!

I really wish I could this Saturday! But I have work all day so I won't be able to make it. If it were on Sunday I could go. I was pushing pretty hard sometimes. Tho some of it I could of went a little faster mostly the longer straighter stuff. I think I could do ok at the fmhs.

First of all, Dave Hodges?! WHERE has that guy been?! I miss having him on our Arkansas rides. It would be cool to see him.

I can't do 1:00 Sat, Jan 28. I have a 4PM commitment this Sat, which means I'd need to be home by 3:00 to cleanup. Bender's is about an hour away for me so I'd have to be loaded and pulling out by 2:00. 1:00 start time means I'd drive an hour, ride for 40 minutes, then have to load and go home.

Thanks! 8)

Troy,

You and I can go out for a private ride at 12:30. I can be there and see to your trail delectation. One lap will be enough to show you what it is about and you can be off after that. Plan on a fast lap of 25 minutes and slower laps a bit more than that. I still think we are unusually lucky with this weather we have been having and that you should take advantage of it.

Crazy525EXC: You can go out with Dave (on my old '09 300 XC-W, the guy you had trouble keeping up with on some corners) at 1:00.

You others that I KNOW want to hit it again be there at 1:00 for Dave to show you the trails. Just hand Dave a check that I can get from him after I demolish, er, demonstrate, trails to Troy.

Crazy525EXC:

I cannot go on Sunday. Dave might be able to go with you. I can send you his email address if you want to do that. Saturday the 28th is my 45th wedding anniversary but we are celebrating it on Sunday. If I rode both Sat. and Sun. I would be, uh, roasted over a spit of VP racing fuel and premix and seasoned with my old Hi-Point boots ground to fine flakes.

Hank,

I presume you want to join David, Mark & Beau on Sunday at 1:00. I will give Dave the paperwork to sign.

It looks like no one will be there on Saturday, and that it might be sloppy after tonight's rain and snow whereas by Sunday riding should be great with the dust diminished.

Hank and I had a great time riding Saturday. Warm if windy. The wind helped with dust. Happy birthday, Hank!

Long term weather prediction is for a much colder and wetter Feb. and Mar. For those who could make it out last weekend and this weekend I would say we were lucky with what we got for riding weather at the end of January.

Thanks to all who made these rides so much fun!

Crazy525exc I presume you had a good ride Sunday.

Actually I had a little mishap. We rode at benders at first then went to perry. I was following mark and he was about to the top of a hill and so I started up and then he went down right at the top. I tried to make it over on the edge and I got slipped up on a tree root and pointed me sideways on the hill almost on top. I dropped the bike so it wouldn't go tumbling down the hill. But I ended up heading down the hill. I tryed to run down but got tripped up and twisted my ankle pretty bad. I've been sitting with my leg up and ice on it since Sunday evening. It's still swollen and starting to turn purple in spots. But except for that I had a really fun time!!
