Perry Saturday Jan. 7 Ride?

This week is supposed to have some good weather and Saturday the high is supposed to be 46. It should be fairly warm by 1:00 for a ride. Anyone want to follow me into oblivion, oh, I mean obvious fun? Rick? Troy? Curado?

At this point, I need to play it by ear, too. Sure hate to miss a warm riding weekend in winter.

FYI, Sunday's weather is supposed to be the same as Saturday. Sundays have a lot more ATV riders running amok than I see on Saturdays. Still, it is preferable to no ride at all.
Thoughts?

Bob, Stu is going to ride Perry, the ORV (Off-Road Vehicle) area at Perry Lake. So it's a haul to the riding area and run through the trees kind of thing.

Thanks! Not a haul for me............... 12 miles of gravel and I'm there!
I'll watch the thread and see what unfolds.

Just leave from the parking area. I hope to get out there this afternoon and look at the trails. They should be OK. Next Wed. we are supposed to get rain and snow. This may be our last chance to ride for a while. Bob, either your 400 or 250 would work very well at Perry.
Sat? Sun?

I plan to come school you guys this Saturday at Perry. I'll start off with a skills demonstration to give you a taste of what's possible if you train hard and are blessed with natural riding talent like me. I'll then provide small group training sessions where hopefully some of my awesomeness will rub off on you noobs.
OK..seriously, I plan to come join you guys this Sat. I won't be able to keep up with Stu, but I'll wave when I see the orange blur go by!
Stu mentions 1:00. I'll plan to be there by 1:00. I drive a 2003, 4-door, tan Ford truck with KTM front license plate. I'll bring my EXC 450 knife to your 2-stroke gun fight.
Stu, thanks for organizing and checking out the conditions beforehand.

I might be able to join in on the fun too?

Tomorrow at 1! A good possibility that it will be 50 degrees. Sunday will be colder. For the beginning of January it would hard to be better (except for yesterday's 68 degrees, of course).
There is some mud but not a lot. It will be fun.

Did you mean the riding or the rubbing?

DOH! I forgot that I broke my clutch lever off at Randolph last Sat! ...and I don't have the spare I thought I did.
Surely one of you guys has a spare clutch lever to fit my EXC 450?
Please let me know: 913.669.0958
I'm going to call Letko when they open and I'll stop there on the way if they have a lever for me.
Joe, bring the boy's 250 and stop at Perry on your way home. Let's ride! Congrats on selling the GasGas!

That was a good ride yesterday, what, maybe 10 riders, great guys, the dirt was almost perfect, virtually no dust and very little mud, (rare from my past Perry experiences), good ride leaders. After awhile we split up into a couple groups and we were hitting a nice fun pace. Thanks for putting it together Stu, I needed that ride. Well, off to work I go.

Rick, I don't think anyone took any photos, but I did see one of the guys from Wichita had a GoPro video camera mounted on his chest protector.
I'll echo what Harv said. Really good time! Thank you, Stu! Stu, please pass along thanks to your buddy--David is it? When you left to lead the dead bike back to the parking lot, he led us around for 45 minutes, and we had a great time. I think he may have been trying to kill us! (Sorry we abandoned you!)
Also, great to meet you, Randy--thanks for the ride, too!

Thanks, guys. It was a great day to meet up with old friends, meet some new guys that will now be friends and have a great time riding. Could not have done it without all of you. I'll check with Clay from Wichita to see if he is going to post any of his video. If so I will post the link.
Troy, sorry I had to lead Bill back with his broken 400. I did some troubleshooting. He had spark but no gas. Since the bike had been sitting for a while I suspect he might have gotten some sediment in one or more of his jets. Anyway, I was hoping to put you through some more paces and see if I could break the other lever....
We will have another ride. I will post particulars.
