Riding on the 4th and 5th

Tomorrow is the Best of Kansas. A hare scramble, an MX and a grass track. At Big Springs. And rain tonight. I'm entered.

Monday is the team 3 hour hare scramble. Harv and I are entered as a team.

I would encourage all of you to 1) enter and race or 2) come out and watch the carnage. You will not be disappointed with either choice. If we do not get much rain you would be able to ride the hare scramble course on Monday on a KLR 650. If you were a capable off-road rider that is.

Rough, fast and dusty racing. Harv and I got a 1st place trophy. If you did not come out to spectate you missed some good racing especially with us using the entire MX course. The top riders were flying over that.

I had fun yesterday. It's always good to take home a cheap plastic trophy. Splitting laps allowed you to never get tired, and the ten minute drive home was the best. There were three photogs on the course. They will have a link to their pics on the FM site later this week.

This guy is a professional photographer. He attends a number of race events in the midwest, shoots the action and offers the pics for sale. He does good work. He's been shooting the FMHS races for a couple of years now.

That's a TACKY cheap plastic trophy, Harv, which I currently have displayed prominently on my mantle. It is great. BTW, I offered to help Perry rebuild the bridge that pretty much was destroyed at the NW end of the course. I fired across one of the cross members on the last lap.

You are right about Andy Stevens with Yellow Wood Photo. Good work.

Troy, thanks for the congrats to the successful old farts Team RF!
