It stands for Forward Motion Hare Scrambles, here's the link:

Harvey, the site indicates that the race is the 27th, not the 20th.

I dusted off the 300 today and got it out to ride around on the streets. I had to repair a broken wire on the turn signals first (it is a dual sport 300 XC-W after all). Mixing gas tomorrow and should be ready for Milford. Should I put on a new rear tire? Is that necessary for Milford? Weather predictions are for rain during the upcoming week.

They schedule Milford 1st every year because the terrain handles water better then some of the other tracks. If we are lucky and avoid any significant moisture between now and then, it should be OK. I know they have rain in the forcast. They may have updates on the FM site about the course next week. I just want to get on the bike as we have been cheated out of alot of riding time this year due to the weather. I'm going to go by Oakland after work and see how wet it is there. If it's not too bad, we will be there for a tune up ride Sat' about mid-day.

Harv...

Freezing rain Thursday night, more on Saturday and a high of 36 on Sunday. Once the mud is scraped off you have ice, like last year, and will be starting in roughly 32 degree weather. That is just a bit below my threshold for riding.

Was at Perry Sunday. I was sweating. Kansas weather. Riding was slick but fun.

You can pre-register online if you raced last year and wait to the last minute to decide to go, that's what we're doing. The cold don't bother me but I don't care for the snow and ice anymore. One thing for sure if you do go, you'll have some stories to tell. We rode at Oakland Sunday and it was absolutely perfect. As an FYI, Perry Keegan is doing a 3 hour team race in August at Big Springs. BS is a very easy track that flows well and he said he may even have a dual sport class where you must have working turn sigs and a horn. PK put on the team races at T-Hill for a number of years and they are pretty laid back and alot of fun since you don't get any series points from them. One thing for sure, we won't be freezing our asses off in August.....

Thanks for the update on the Milford reschedule. That will be a whole lot better. No morning freezing rain to drive through to get there Sunday.

Was at Big Springs on Wed. Great riding with slimy spots. I have to clear one really bad bog area and re-route it yet. The bottleneck last year in the creek with the blocking tree I've already cleared out and opened up. The race in May should flow really well and be a great deal of fun.

Race is now on April 3rd. Must have been a scheduling issue. Keep an eye on the site in case it changes again.

March 13 was open. The April 3 date puts 4 races every weekend. Busy. The issue with Milford was that there were 3' drifts. The race organizers could not even get into the parking area.
