Re: Point and Shoot Camera
Mine is a Canon Sx140i or something like that. It has a big display, no viewfinder (sometimes I miss it) and a killer range on the zoom for a $150 p&S. Something like a 28-210 35mm equivalant. And it is a 2.8, so it's kinda fast. It uses 2AAs which I think is a good thing. It is when the battery die...

Re: Spring Ride-April 26,27,28
I've got a tent spot reserved for the weekend. I'm still trying to decide between riding down, or putting it in the truck.
I also have a trailer, if someone needs a ride, that is an option. Right now I'm leaning towards the truck, and bringing my grill and cooler too.

Re: Minnesota May 30- June 2
That sounds interesting. I've only been through MN once, and that was on I35 from Duluth south in February 10+ years ago. I have a small trip planned the week before, and I need to save some vacation time for the fall. And I need knobbier tires, or just ride the DRZ. I guess I have time to think abo...

Re: Talimena Arkansas/Oklahoma
I rode the byway a couple of years ago West to East. I think I like your gray pictures better than my bright green ones. We rode it mid day mid week, and I think we pretty much had the road to ourselves. There was a guy on a ST1300, and we talked to him breifly at one of our photo stops, but that wa...

That must have been a "Scenic / Introductory" ride. I didn't see that 'Strom on its side once. And where was our chase vehicle with the primo food?
Not a bad video though.

Re: Vintage moto show Lawrence, KS 2/3/13
Congrats Bob, it looks like my vote counted for something. I stayed around for a while, but left fairly early. Bobs display was more complete than most of the other entries. Most were just a bike and an entry sheet. I did manage to put 115 miles on the TU.

Re: Vintage moto show Lawrence, KS 2/3/13
No it's not mine. It is a friend of mine. He retired from GM and built it from scratch (no kit) in 5 months. It is powered by 1/2 of a VW engine. He has over 500 hours in it. He flew it to Oshkosh and back last year. It is technically an ultralight, so no license ect. It was featured in Kitplanes la...

If I'm not at work, I'm planning on heading that way on my TU. It may be a bit cool on the way there, but should be a nice ride home. I'll probably be the only one on a TU.

Re: Cold Weather Riding
Many years ago (15+) I went through a yellow light (I swear!), and got pulled over by a M/C officer on a cold (20ish) day. He too had an open face helment on. His face was bright red and his nose was running. I remember him not being in a good mood. " It was red" is what I was told and was handed a ...

Greetings Charlie, glad to see you here too. Some of us just got back from your area last week, as you may know.
I keep asking myself why I live here when Arkansas (or Colorado) is just a state away.

I was going to do a long step by step post, but I think I'll just post a few of my favorite shots. http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/aa372/rycomm/IMG_0228.jpg Eddies cover shot, maybe. Scottie, that video was like re living it. My shoulders and arms a still a little sore. I'm pretty sure Suzuki never intended for the 'Strom to be used like that.
Hope you're feeling better.

Errrg. I jut spent over an hour, and accidently closed the tab with my version of Possum Creek and the rest of the afternoon. I'm so irritated I think I will try again tomorrow.

Re: 4th Annual Winter Bald Eagle Ride, January 18-21, 2013
OK, I don't know if it's photobucket, my weak internet connection, or my other computer, but I had half of day two ready to post, then it all locked up and went away. So, here is the photobucket link. These are in no order and haven't been cropped or enhanced, just straight from the camera. The prob...

The first batch of photos are uploading now. I'll post a link to my photobucket page, if you want to see a bunch of photos. I'll post a few of my favorites here. Eddie, if you need a full res pic, I can email you one (or several). I'm pretty sure photobucket compresses them more than a publication w...

Re: 4th Annual Winter Bald Eagle Ride, January 18-21, 2013
Ryan, did you notice the looks we were getting when we walked into the gas station in Butler? I'm not sure if the looks were them thinking what of a couple crazies...or maybe it was just my jacket? Thanks again and I hope everybody made it home okay! I'm pretty sure it was the two guys in ski masks...

Re: 4th Annual Winter Bald Eagle Ride, January 18-21, 2013
Actually the weather down there was really nice, up until sunset. I think it was in the mid 50's or so when we split from Troy and Eddie. It was late dusk somewhere about Nevada when you could see the sky change from clear to overcast, and by then it was cold, and dropping. It was still a great week...

Re: 4th Annual Winter Bald Eagle Ride, January 18-21, 2013
Randy and I made it home tonight, around 7:30. We blasted up 71 from Joplin. By Nevada, my fingers were nearly numb. By Butler I was more cold than not. My fingers felt stingingly cold. Randy pulled off the highway, and I was happy for the break. I added two more layers of gloves. I was nice and war...

Here are a few more, hopefully medium sized photos of the day. I always think I take a lot more photos, but this is most of what I have. I thought I had a picture of Kendalls new 990 all dirty, but I guess not. I seem to remeber a napping F800, but that must of not happened either. More napping 'Str...
