Yes, it was a great time - even though Troy forgot the Cocaine AND the E.
It's always good to put a face to the name.

Anyone got any first hand testimony or thoughts?
I've been hunting for a more touring based bike for some time, and while I am not dead-set and hellbent on buying one - I did come across this little gem this morning. It is a 2000 K 1200 LT , with 56K miles and new tires. Owner wants 6000, but, I could probably talk him down a bit if push came to s...

Re: 4th Annual Winter Bald Eagle Ride, January 18-21, 2013
I haven't really been able to ride as of late, so, I just got around to changing the oil on the bike. It wasn't overdue by a mileage standpoint, but, more along the lines of, hmm, it's spring - time to change the oil. I hadn't taken a good look at the skid plate since I got back from the Bald Eagle ...

Oh, that does look interesting. Too bad only 3 episodes, though. Hopefully it will get some good ratings and spur them on to do more.

I'm just a lookie-loo, so, any date, or time is fine - although I had hoped to ride the bike up that way instead of the car.

Let's hope the weatherman is wrong for that weekend. I checked this morning and it's showing Snow Showers on Friday? This is May, right?

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Bob and Eddie! No worries. The issues aren't a big deal, and I've made a change that might solve the problem. Time will tell. This forum is a labor of love and really has never been a burden to operate. My monthly cost for the tech that runs this forum is < $10. (Thank...

Re: Over $600 for a Garmin 60CSX?!
Well, since I am an Amazon Prime member and don't live in KS, I can get it for a straight 599.99 with free shipping if that makes you feel any better. But, I remember looking at these at some point, and I don't remember them being that expensive. I could be wrong, however, www.camelcamelcamel.com sa...

Re: 1st Annual RideForum Enduro Skills Challenge!
Not to thread jack, but, speaking of hammocks . I hope the deal goes through on the Warbonnet. Kind of excited about carrying LESS on the bike gear wise for the camping funs and joys. Not sure the Explorer or Strom would be high enough to account for the slack in the hammock. Probably spend the nigh...

Re: 1st Annual RideForum Enduro Skills Challenge!
Anyone planning on camping? Or, staying the night? I'm in talks with a gent about selling his Warbonnet blackbird hammock and if the sale goes through, he seems a bit proud of a hammock he doesn't like all that much, I'd like to try it out. KC, you got a couple of trees, roughly 18' apart I can atta...

Re: BILT Explorer Jacket
Keep in mind that if the zippers do break, any respectable tailor can fix or replace them with better ones.
Might cost you a few bucks, but, you could get real zippers put in the jacket while it's a bit chilly out and not have to worry about it when the time comes to wear it every day.

There's a good chance I'll be in the KC area that weekend, so, I might include myself as one of the 'watchers' and be social for a bit. Not sure Manhattan is "in the KC area", but hope you make it! Silly, Troy. When you own a bike and like to ride, everything including not having to put the bike on...

Re: Point and Shoot Camera
IOut of curiousity, why tether yourself to a "proprietary" battery pack? I insist on a camera that uses 2 trusty AA s for my travel camera. I pack an extra set or two and can pick more up just about anywhere. Rechargeable battery packs just don't last as long...and lith-ions are ticking time bombs....

Re: Point and Shoot Camera
The model I purchased also has a built in GPS that records where the picture was taken. It takes some time to find the satellites when it is turned on but over all it works pretty well. I imagine the newer models have a faster GPS. I believe I did some research for the GPS enabled model of the Pana...
