Re: 2007 450 KTM EXC Rejuvenation August 2015

Just an FYI on the turn signal question...The official MO handbook states something very close to the following: "If a motorcycle is equipped with turn signals, they must be in working order" (the actual verbiage starts on page 39 of the state regulations manual (http://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/MSH...

Re: October 9-11 Razorback Riders present Rally @ The Rock

Kendall - you mention a "big-bike" ride as part of this event. However, having been fooled by Troy into taking the VStrom on a "big bike" ride to Arkansas and learning it's not really an adventure bike, I'm wondering if there will be a ride more focused on pavement & tame gravel. (jk Troy :D )

Fun with GPS

I ran across this website today. It takes GPS tracks and overlays them with 3D topical maps. Here's an example: http://www.doarama.com/view/437654 I haven't gotten into the GPS thing just yet, as it's all I can do to stay on the trails without distractions. But, I'd be interested to view some of our...

Re: Roadbook navigation ride

I don't recall exactly how much we thought the prices were for a road book during Luc's presentation at Cycle Zone, but I ran across this product, and wondered if it would work? http://www.transamtrail.com/store/#holder Only $30 plus shipping. Seems like a good entry-level product, unless I'm missin...

Re: Learn about rallying and roadbook navigation July 16th

Troy - Sorry we missed all the fun :D Actually, I feel horrible knowing that James and I could have easily obtained a gas can from WalMart and had you on the road in 20 minutes. Of course, hindsight is 20/20... Loved the van, though. Almost as comfortable as the back "seat" of Randy's truck. Next ti...

Troy - James and I will meet you at 5 Guys. I'll make him go through the hassle of getting through the crack security team at the Cerner gate.

Count me in, Troy.

I believe James is coming as well, but we'll work out the details. Worst case, I can walk over to Cabela's from my office.

Re: Independence Day Weekend Ride

Thanks for putting this together Troy. Saturday was fantastic. I learned a lot about the capabilities, or lack thereof, of the 650 Vstrom when travelling on gravel. The highway sections, on the other hand, were a blast. Lunch and dinner were fantastic as well. Sunday didn't go quite as well. I ended...

Re: Independence Day Weekend Ride

Assuming all goes well with my repair tomorrow, James and I are going to modify our KC>Joplin leg Thursday: Meeting in Harrisonville sometime between 3:00 and 4:00. James is pulling his BMW on the trailer since he's working in Bentonville next week. Given my recent mechanical issues, that will give ...

Troy - I have a weekly 2:00 conference call, but it usually wraps up by 2:30. So, leaving from my office by the Speedway, 3pm should work fine.

Re: Independence Day Weekend Ride

I received shipping confirmation of the fuel filter, promising a Wednesday delivery. I should know by 7pm whether or not the new filter did the trick. I'll update this thread with my status at that time.

Re: Independence Day Weekend Ride

I have to move into the "tentative" column at this point. My shiny "new" tank is completely rust free (see thread in Rider's Lounge if you're interested), but it appears I now have a badly clogged fuel filter. I'll get one ordered tomorrow, but the place I found with them in stock only offers 2 day ...

Unless someone else already had plans to make/bring them, Danielle and I will bring some home-made baked beans as our side dish.

Re: Fuel Tank Rust Removal

Final Update.... The fuel filter clogged up on Sunday, so I pulled it off and took it to ACE Radiator Monday morning. Got a call around noon, saying the rust was removed, but exposed a layer of some type of coating that wasn't reacting to his chemical, and flaking off just like the rust was before. ...

OK, if you want to "ride" down together let me know.

Will do. I'd feel much more comfortable riding in a group for a 3 hour pavement ride.
