Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!
Troy, due to some family matters that I need to manage in the upcoming days/weeks I'm not going to be able to make the ride next weekend. Since you are short on beds this may help some. Take care and ride safe guys.

Re: 450/525 EXC KTM's
Don't worry, I'll be on the Orange Pig, I talked myself out of it for now. The 450 is in Nixa MO and for sale on KTM talk, totally blinged out with a set of street wheels and cush rear hub too. If someone wanted a properly dialed '07 450 this would be a good one. I don't really have the time or ener...

Re: 450/525 EXC KTM's
Hold the phone XR-nut, I just got a line on an '07 EXC450 that's all blinged out. Bad thing it's a 2.5 hour drive to get it. I'd have to sell my RXC400 to make room in the garage for it. Man,... I don't know what to do......

Re: EXC300 data for Hayden
There was a XCW250 e-start bike at C-Dale late last year. It was strange hearing the electric start spinning then a 2T sound afterwards. E-start and a kicker on a 2T is the best of both worlds. Don't be afraid of kick starting a 2T, they start very easily. It sounds like you are wanting to "try out"...

Re: EXC300 data for Hayden
Hayden, keep in mind any of the KTM's, 200/250/300 has more than enough power to do what you want to do, each motor size just has a different personality, (power delivery) and thru tuning, you can make any of them do just about anything. Personally I'd rather buy a bike with considerably more hours ...

I'll for sure be on the BIG ORANGE PIG in Arkansas as I found out last night that somebody beat me to the five-two-five. I was on the fence on the damn thing anyway. You and me XR-Nut, we'll be pushin' some iron thru the woods. WOOOOHOOOOO!

Re: 450/525 EXC KTM's
The truth of the matter is I was the oldest and slowest last year. The only one who crashed, and quite often everyone had to stop and wait on me while I fixed crash damage on me AND the bike. I was unworthy of the talent that surrounded me. I was truly impressed with the exemplary riding skills of t...

Re: 450/525 EXC KTM's
Heading to Ar. after work tomorrow and taking the 525 and the 200. But, will mostly ride the 525 down there it's just at home in that rocky, rough, single track. I plan on hitting up a few FMHS races, but will run the 200 in those #518. I'll try not to roost ya Harvey Mushman, hehe.... :D I'm used ...

EXC300 data for Hayden
Hayden you asked about the 300 EXC. Mine is an '02. Some background; The KTM 200's are based on the SX125 motor and are real snappy, alot of fun to ride, but you have to stay focused. Anybody can trail ride one, but trying to go fast for 2 hours non-stop, you have to be on your game. The bike is les...

Re: 450/525 EXC KTM's
Do you guys run a fan on the radiator? have you rewound the stator? Any problems running the battery flat if the fan runs alot. I imagine you can jet it a little fat to get it to run cooler. I wouldn't ever run any heated grips or a hardwired GPS. The only electrical demand would be the lights and p...

Re: So, who's riding this weekend?
I'll bet Oakland is still pretty bad, as of last Sunday the fields immediately south of there were saturated and I talked to a couple guys on quads and they said much of it was still frozen and they were there to pull another stuck 4 wheeler out. I'll try to go by there Friday after work and get a f...

Re: Husky TE610?
Larry, I rode Steve Starkels 610 a few years back. I remember it feeling a bit less powerful than my 620 but it had all the power a person needs. I think it was a six speed and it literally loafed in 6th gear and didn't vibrate like my bike, (felt a bit more polished). I think it also had a factory ...

Re: 08 race season, who racing?
If you were going to try a race I'd suggest Carbondale or Milford. Neither have any creek crossings for all practical purposes. Quenemo would be a good starter track as well. Your YZ would be fine, actually your 400S would probably do OK. Barkbusters is a must, a skidplate is a good idea. Drink plen...

Re: 08 race season, who racing?
They do the classes by age. Last year was my 1st year for the Massacre. It was basically a couple of MX courses linked together by a tiny bit of single track. In past years they also linked in the flat track but the conditions were so bad I was told they didn't want to tear it up. It actually was al...

Re: 08 race season, who racing?
Stop by row #7 and say hello. I'll probably do both Milfords, Quenemo, C'dale. The ones close to home. Depends what work will allow. I'm looking for a 50+ partner to run the St. Valentines Day Massacre with on 2.10.08. . Read about it below. How 'bout it Stu. You could let that big 525 eat at Jeeps,...

Re: South Wabaunsee county - 1/06
Give us a road report when you get back Larry. I went out for a couple hours yesterday and gravel roads were OK with the exception of still a fair amount of snow and a little ice. I'm sure any dirt roads would be nothing but mud right now. Alma/Eskridge is a great area to DS.
