Re: Did my first enduro

Cool story Mike. You really can't appreciate what competition is like until you try it. Now you know. One key reason you were so tired is because your mind and body truly didn;t know what to expect, but now it does. Each consecutive race will get a little bit easier as you become more comfortable do...

Re: KS Required Equipment - Make an informed choice

I agree w/Hayden. The Sherriff deputies have always been the nicest to deal with. Example; Last year I was headed south on 75 going to Chanute and was clocked going 79 in a 65 by a Sherriff going the other direction. As soon as I saw him coming at me I knew I was toast. When he passed he slammed on ...

Re: Moab Ride Slideshow

As an FYI, there in a '07 EXC450 for sale in Topeka at the moment. The guy has an ad in the Topeka Capitol Journal. I talked to him briefly and it sounds like an ultra clean bike, about 1700 miles, street ridden only. I believe the '07's are one of the best model years as it was the last year of the...

Re: Need a Wichita soil sample

Some of the other feelers I have out in the area is confirming that as well. Think I'll set this year out. Maybe I'll tell the wifey that all my freinds are going but I decided to stay home with her since it's Valentines day. That ought to be worth some "money in the bank". Thanks for the road repor...

Need a Wichita soil sample

Gents, myself and a group of guys ride the St. Valentines Day Massacre at Jeeps every year. With all the snow we recently received, It could potentially be pretty nasty and not worth going. Anybody in the Wichita area able to give a report on the general ground condition in the area? I believe you g...

Re: New member to forum. Hello everyone!

The '03 EXC I only put 4, maybe 500 miles on it max. The '04 I had, I put about 2300 miles on it. It had about 3300 miles on it when I sold it. I can e-mail you pics of both bikes if you don't believe I owned them. I owned the '04, (bought from Dan Mitchell) long enough to do three oil changes, two ...

Re: New member to forum. Hello everyone!

If I didn;t know better I'd think XR-Nut drank the orange Kool-aid . And a wise man he is choosing the three-hundy for off-road. But, the newbie needs a tag so that really speaks to the 4T's. The 450/525 KaTooM maintenance routines are not that bad. The valves don't move much if you don't rev the sh...

Re: Stu, Joe, Sean, 2 stroke info needed

The 200 KTM is an offshoot of their 125 MX bike which makes them very snappy from a power delivery standpoint. A friend of mine had a 200MXC a couple years ago, (last year he went to a 250 as he's a bigger guy), I spent about an hour riding it at Oakland. It was a point and shoot weapon. In order to...

Re: confession to be made

I remember as a kid on my bicycle at the local trails seeing an 441 Victor and a Norton Commando climbing some big hills. There was also a guy on an old Sportster there as well. That was before the Japanese invasion of 2T dirt bikes and you just rode your street bike off road. Seeing this endeared m...

Re: Bored & Snowbound

No need to be bored and snowbound in February. All you guys near Wichita need to get to Jeeps; Feb 8 - WJMC sanctioned Hare Scramble 38th Annual St Valentines Day Massacre ( 6 hour / 2 man) Sign in 8:00am / Practice 9:00am / Race 10:00am I'm not sure what they call it a Hare Scramble because the cou...

Re: Ride Sun Dec. 6

Due to a schedule change, I've got some things to do Sat PM so the 2PM start time puts me out too late. I think I'll just burn some local dirt early as I need to have everything cleaned up & put away by about 2ish. Happy 70th Stu, what better way to celebrate than on a dirt bike. You guys ride safe....

Re: Ride Sat. Nov. 27 at Perry

Oakland is a public riding area in Topeka, Take Sardou to Chester (by the Methodist Church) and turn (North) and go to the end of the road and you're there. Park along the road. Small MX track, good single track, Some big open areas. Good variety. Sandy soil next to the river, thus most of it drains...

Re: Ride Sat. Nov. 27 at Perry

Some of us are going to ride at Oakland either tomorrow or Saturday, (probably be Saturday). Oakland tolerates water MUCH better than Perry. If Perry is too muddy, C'mon over to Oakland and enjoy the fun.

Re: MILFORD LAKE SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7TH

If we weren't racing Sunday I'd meet you at Milford. I'd have to be in much better shape than I am now to do a full day at Milford then race Sunday. I'm off today so I'm going to burn some dirt at Oakland for a couple hours this PM. I'll use Saturday to rest up. See you Sunday.

Carbondale HS. last race of the season

This Sunday is the last FMHS race of the season at Carbondale. Supposed to be dry all week and mid 60's Sunday which will make for a beautiful day and a perfect track. This is a good first timers track as there are no real water crossings and no real high speed sections. Pretty much single track woo...

Re: I got in! Shane Watts Dirtwise school

There has been a number of FMHS guys that attended Watt's program and they said they enjoyed it alot. I bought his "Dirtwise" DVD about a year ago and it has some good instruction on it. I also understand Watts is very patient and offers alot of individual instruction with each student. Watts is a h...
